Hi I'm Matt

I love music and play guitar. I've known my wife since 6th grade. I have 3 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been blessed continuously throughout my life, even when I have not recognized it. I have a gorgeous wife. She was my high school sweetheart and long time friend. I saw her for the first time in 6th grade. We were in a special musical childrens choir together. We found each other again in high school and became good friends. I feel like every decision in my life led me to meet her. Because of her I have 3 beautiful children as they resemble their mom and not their dad. Another sweet blessing from my heavenly father. I have a dog who is more like a child then a pet and is spoiled more then any dog should be. Our house is usually full of music whether it is me playing the guitar and singing to the kids or my wife playing a song she wrote on the piano. Our kids love to sing and are showing sings of having their moms perfect ear for music. We love singing at church as music , in my opinion, is the easiest way to bring the spirit into any setting. I work as a service manager for a large automotive group and love talking to people and helping them solve their problems.

Why I am a Mormon

This is a big question to answer. I previously was methodist and although it is a great religion I always had a lot of questions that were never answered. When I became good friends with the person who would later become my wife I was introduced to the church and immediately desired to learn more. I was taught the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ by two missionaries who I feel were called of God to be there at that time to teach me specifically. Everything i learned made sense to me logically but, more important then that, I felt on a very personal level that the things i was learning were true. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to my Heavenly Father if it was true. I gained a knowledge of the truthfulness of that book. By knowing that the book of mormon is true I am able to know that the Church of Jesus Christ is true. That in this Church the fullness of the gospel is found. That prophets and apostles still lead the Lords church by direct revelation as they always have at any point when the Lords church was on the earth. That a young Joseph Smith at the age of 14 prayed to know which church to join and saw our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ and through that experience was able to bring forth the Book of Mormon and restore the Church of Jesus Christ back on the Earth. It is a wonderful blessing and a comfort to be led by modern day revelation. I am a Mormon because it brings me peace and comfort that i could not otherwise find, blesses my life beyond my ability to comprehend, and challenges me to constantly try and improve myself.

How I live my faith

Living my faith can be a challenge in a world where the popular behavior is usually not in accordance with the teachings of the church. I try to live my life in a way that can be an example to others. I choose to try and not use language or talk in a way that are inappropriate. I love and cherish my wife and my children. I attend my church meetings on a regular basis. I serve in the church as a financial clerk meaning I keep track of all of the church finances for the people in my area. Our family reads scriptures together every night before bed. I pray and read my own scirptures. I make mistakes every day and I ask my Heavenly Father for forgiveness. To sum it all up, I try to do my best every day to live in a way that would make my Father in Heaven proud of me. Sometimes I feel like I succeed at that and sometimes I don't. Either way, through my faith, I know that he loves me and is willing to help me along my path in life so long as I am willing to try to do better every day.
