Hi I'm Mindy

I'm a newly-wed college student who loves to have fun, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student, striving to become an elementary school teacher. I love to learn about anything I can get my hands on. Music is also one of my passions. I play the piano and the flute and I love to sing. This semester I am learning to play the organ as well. I was just married last May and I love this new adventure! My husband and I love to play games and eat ice cream together, among other exciting things! I am also very passionate about family history. My family means everything to me. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I am never happier than when I follow the teachings found in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but I have learned for myself that Jesus Christ is my Savior, that Joseph Smith was his prophet, and that Thomas S. Monson is his prophet on the earth today. Through this gospel I know that families can be together forever and that everything that happens to us here on earth is to help us grow. Life can be hard, but I've always found strength in knowing that I am loved and that if I strive to learn from each experience, I will be stronger than I was before. I love this gospel!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. I love to help people any way I can and enjoy being in their company. I served as a missionary to help others live a more abundant life. I serve today by finding many of my ancestors and doing temple work for them. I attend institute, a class during the week to learn more about the gospel and take time away from other studies. It's the best! My husband and I enjoy getting to know our neighbors over dinner and/or board games.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

When Jesus Christ was on the earth, He lived a perfect life. By doing so, He showed us what we must do and strive to become in order to be saved in the Kingdom of God. Even though He was perfect, He was still baptized, showing us that baptism is a necessity to be saved. However, not everyone has had an equal opportunity to be baptized by the proper authority, so, in the temple we are baptized for those who haven't had this chance. Show more Show less
