Hi I'm Valorie

I am an Army wife, mother of five and part time jewelry designer. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in a small town in Utah and I thought I would live there forever. All of that changed when I married my husband Joe. He is an active duty soldier in the Army and I promised him I would follow him wherever the military sent him. We have been married now for seventeen years and we have 5 amazing children. I love moving to new areas and meeting new people from varied backgrounds. In addition to church service, I love to stay active in military support groups, work in my yard and of course spend all the time I can with my family and friends. In my spare time, you will likely find me with my nose in a book or designing jewelry. I have a big sweet tooth and probably get overly excited when I discover a new cupcake or frozen yogurt shop.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and began building my testimony from an early age. My father passed away in a car accident just after my first birthday. My Mom raised my sister and I with a firm knowledge that families can be forever and when I was fourteen we were able to sealed together in the temple. Once I got married and left home, my testimony was tried. Sometimes I held firm and other times I faltered. Through the ups and downs of raising a family in a military lifestyle the gospel has always been the one constant I could count on. God does not waiver and he is always there for me. I find great strength in knowing that this is Christ's restored church upon the earth. It makes sense to me that we should have a living prophet and apostles once again on the earth, that the Priesthood should come from a known line of authority and that God the Father, His son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are all separate individuals working together for one purpose. The gospel of Jesus Christ brings me hope and peace whether I am going through good times or bad. The church is a big loving family that is there for me wherever in the world I am!

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the women's organization in my ward. I love getting to know all of the women and assisting the Lord in teaching and administering to their needs, both physical and spiritual. Whether I am helping to organize a fun weekday activity, visiting with someone in their home or teaching a lesson on Sunday, I am certain that the Lord strengthens me as I try to help Him strengthen others.
