Hi I'm Jason

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a soon to be dad. My wife and I just recently found out we are having a little boy this December. We are now starting to prepare all the different things associated with bringing the little guy into the world, such as painting walls, purchasing a crib, and all the other essentials of a newborn. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree and have successfully completed a Bachelors degree in business and accounting. I am also working to support my family and am very excited for the day I finish my masters. In my free time I enjoy floating in the pool during the hot Arizona summers. I was a diver for many years and still enjoy showing off all of my hard earned moves on the diving board from time to time. I also love going to the beach and surfing for hours at a time. Another hobby I have pursued is break dancing. As a youth I enjoyed listening to music and putting together moves to impress people on the dance floor. I have since taught break dancing/hip-hop classes to a fun group of boys at a local dance studio.

Why I am a Mormon

From a young age I have always been very inquisitive. I have always been one to logically and rationally reason through things. As I have learned and studied the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ I have found principles of truth and a high standard of living. As I have lived and applied such principles in my life I have found happiness. Now as an adult I am blessed with the ability of hindsight and see were such doctrines and teachings have influenced my decisions for good. The gospel has given me direction and purpose to life which has helped me avoid many of the unfavorable outcomes I have seen friends without this knowledge endure. In my personal live I have questioned and studied the doctrines of the church on a daily basis. While some answers to my inquisitions have come by small and simple means, others have come by way of great revelatory experiences which have provided me with knowledge no man can give. These truths of the gospel have been etched in my heart by the Spirit. I know that Jesus Christ is our personal savior. To the intelectual mind one might review the history of this great man's life and see a good story. To the humble heart that applies his teachings and lives his gospel, the power of his great sacrifice becomes a reality. I have felt the overwhelming power of his atonement in my personal life and have seen its power influence on the lives of may people that I hold near and dear to me. I know that his living gospel is on the earth in his fullness and that he continues to lead his church as in times of old through prophets and apostoles. I know that the heavens are not closed but that God has continued to teach, lead, and guide his children. I have been able to make and honor covenants with him which have brought me enduring happiness.

How I live my faith

Whenever I come across something that I think is awesome like an amazing restaurant or good deal I find myself wanting to share that it with everyone. So it is with the happiness the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ and his church has brought into my life. I have shared and seen the gospel bless the lives of many of those around me. I served as a missionary in Ecuador and was able to see many of the good people of Ecuador act upon personal revelation and find the same happiness and joy in their own families and personal lives. As a family, my wife and I find much needed strength in our marriage by studying and applying the gospel principles in our home. It brings peace and understanding that would be very difficult to find any other way. As we are preparing to bring our new son into the world we have hope for a bright future for the little guy and am excited to teach him the principles of the gospel that has brought us such happiness in our lives.
