Hi I'm Shannon

I'm a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a nurse, a friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family! My husband and two children bless my life daily and I am grateful for a loving extended family--they mean the world to me! I find absolute joy in being a mother. I am a nurse and work very part-time on a mother-baby unit. I enjoy being able to share special moments with families as they welcome a new baby into the world--it is a gift. I love to discover and delve into a great read, travel, listen to good music, go for nice fast walks, visit the ocean and sandy beaches, check out lds.org, serve at my children's schools, visit with friends, attend the temple, mingle with the amazing youth of this church, bake (and eat) treats, vacation with my family, plan ahead, and sneak in a game of tennis here and there. I love life and I love the gospel of Jesus Christ--it truly is the great plan of happiness!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a loving home by parents who cherished the gospel of Jesus Christ and taught me that true happiness comes as we serve. love, and live as the Savior did. The Mormon faith has always been a part of my life and is a gift from a loving Heavenly Father that I hold dear. I am a Mormon because I BELIEVE and I KNOW the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lords restored true church. This is what I believe . . . I know that God is our Heavenly Father and loves us. I know His Son, Jesus Christ is our Savior and that His outstretched hands seek to lift and bless each one of us--I have felt this in my life. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and through the power of God restored the gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth today and translated the Book of Mormon. I know this church is led by a living prophet today who receives revelation. I know as I stay true to the Lord and His church I will always qualify for the companionship and gift of the Spirit--the Holy Ghost--a gift I never want to be without! I know when we are guided by the Holy Ghost we experience a strength and power that will safely guide us thru any circumstance! The Holy Ghost can be our constant companion and will show us "all things we should do." I have felt this power and gift in my life. I know Heavenly Father loves each one of us--we are His children. I know as we "press forward with a perfect brightness of hope" He will be there to lift and lead us along. I love His promise "Fear thou not for I am with thee be not dismayed for I am thy God I will strengthen thee yea, I will help thee yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." I know Heavenly Father is there. I know He listens. I know He loves you and me. This testimony-my testimony keeps me safe and helps me stand firm in the faith!

How I live my faith

I live my faith as I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ and seek after those things that will draw me closer to Him. As I pray in faith, read and ponder in the scriptures, love and serve my family, neighbors, and friends and attend the temple and my church meetings I feel the Savior's light and love in my life. I live my faith as I bear testimony of my Savior and seek to stand as a witness of Him at all times, and in all things, and in all places--I try to always do my very best! I live my faith as I serve in His church. I feel blessed to serve in the young women's organization of the church. The youth of this church are absolutely INCREDIBLE!—I am grateful for their goodness and strength and for the opportunity I have to help them feel and understand the love that Heavenly Father has for each of them. I live my faith as I strive to be patient, kind, true, and happy!
