Hi I'm Bert

I'm married. I go treasure hunting with my three daughters. I like to fish. I annually attempt to grow a garden. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married and a father of three girls. We like to go geocaching when we can. My daughters call it treasurer hunting. It gets us outside enjoying the great outdoors hiking and exploring. Two months ago, I went halibut fishing for the first time. It was awesome. I hope to go again next year. It was the biggest fish I have ever caught. In addition, I've been salmon and trout fishing in the local rivers and lakes. Each year, we try and grow a family garden. It isn't always successful; however, it makes a good family project. We try different vegetables each year, and it's still a work in progress.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon. When I was getting ready to go on my church mission, I knew I had to find out if the things I had learned were true. If not, I wasn't going to go spend two years of my life teaching people about Jesus when I didn't believe it. I read, studied and prayed. Through the Holy Ghost, I knew it was true. I spent the next two years, teaching people about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Since my mission, I have continued to be a Mormon. It brings me peace and joy. It also gives me a purpose to this life and why I am here.

How I live my faith

I'm active in the Woodinville Chamber of Commerce, the Master Builders Association, and I serve as a board member for the Lake Washington College Foundation. In addition, I volunteer in my church by helping organize Sunday School, working with young women between the ages of 12-18, assisting the adult women's group, and organizing social events like the summer BBQ. In the past, I've helped the Boy Scounts of America as a merit badge counselor and helping with campouts.
