Hi I'm Brian

I'm a Mormon. I grew up traveling all over the United States and have lived in Turkey and Germany.

About Me

I love my family and friends. I have a great love for history. I love learning about people, cultures, and histories. I enjoy reading books on history and historical fiction. I love to learn about war, tactics, strategies, and about the people involved. I believe that he that does not learn from history is doomed to repeat it. Military history and colonial history (USA) interest me intensely. I enjoy playing video games, movies, and helping others. My father was a career military officer and I moved around a lot when I was younger. I've lived in Arkansas, Maine, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, and my beloved birth state of Ohio. I have also lived in Turkey and Germany. I enjoy road trips and traveling. I hate to fly. I'm the oldest of three. I love watching the sunrises and sunsets and looking up at the stars. I'm married to my Sweetheart for twenty of the best years of my life. We currently have no children, but we have hope and are trying to adopt. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was seven years old, My family and I would get into a flurry of activity in order to make the house ready for the missionaries to visit. I hated that. It seemed as though the spirit of contention would work against us. That would change when the missionaries arrived. They brought the Holy Ghost into our home and into our lives. I heard the message that Heavenly Father had a plan for my family and I. That families can be together forever and I felt the Holy Ghost speak to heart and I knew that they spoke the truth. I learned about Joseph Smith and his first vision and The Book of Mormon. I learned it is true and I testify that the missionaries were doing the Lord's will. They, with the Lord's help, brought light into my world, yea into my heart. They taught me how to know if the things they were teaching were true. I pondered and I prayed and then I received an answer, it is true and I so testify. I feel that God the Eternal Father lives, that He loves us so very much that He spared not His only begotten son Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ did take upon Him the sins of this world that man may be saved and was lifted up. He rose up after the third day, He appeared unto His disciples and ascended into Heaven. He appeared unto the inhabitants of North America. Joseph Smith is the prophet of the restoration, The Book of Mormon is true and we have a living prophet upon the earth today, President Thomas Spencer Monson, who is the mouth piece for the Lord. This knowledge brings me peace. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, because I feel loved, I can feel the Holy Ghost reaffirm these truths to me. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I love to attend church. My meetings help me to follow my Savior's example and make right choices throughout the week . I really feel in my heart and soul that I need spiritual nourishment to face the trials and challenges I have in life. The worldly influences are tough but by attending all my meetings I feel happier and more able to handle change. I know that I can pray to my Heavenly Father at any time and He answers my prayers. In serving others I draw closer to God. Mosiah 217 "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." I try to live my religion every day, some times I mess up, but I know I can repent and continue to strive to improve.
