Hi I'm Colin

I am currently serving a mission in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission. I love to meet new people. I grew up North Idaho.

About Me

I am 21 years old. I am currently serving a mission in the Las Vegas West Mission. I graduated in 2010 from high school and attended BYU-I for 2 semesters before entering the mission field. I am currently thinking about graduating in Business and Marketing. I would like to become a marketing representative or own my own business, possibly a photography business one day or even managing ski resorts. I am an Eagle Scout and recieved my award at 15. I worked as a scout camp counselor for 4 years and love relating to people. I also served as a high school mentor for 2 years to help incoming freshman make the transfer from middle school to high school. I am from a family of 2, me and my brother. He is married and also served a mission, in the Fort. Worth, TX Mission. I love to do outdoor activities since I am from North Idaho. I especially love rugby, lacrosse and skiing in the winter time. I played baseball, football, soccer, basketball, track and field, and love just about any activity that is put in front of me. I love arts and crafts. I just taught myself how to spray paint planet pictures. I love to learn new skills and trades. I love photography and have a knack for taking pictures. I love relating to people by working, serving and getting to know them and who they are. I enjoy hard work and tasks put in front of me. I love working out and helping others with anything they need.

Why I am a Mormon

I am mormon because my parents gave me the opportunity and choice before I was even born. My parents are both converts and have been for many years. My mom was taught the lessons along with one of her sisters and her mom. She accepted this gospel and blessed me with this. My dad is also a convert and he enjoyed having the missionaries over and they eventually converted him. I know that the choice my parents made will affect generations to come. I thank them often for making that great decision for me. I also could not think of where I would be without this gospel. All I do know is that I would not be where I am today. I cannot explain how proud I am of converts for making the decision to become an LDS member. They have such strong spirits and I am so happy for them and deciding to follow Christ. I can also attest having experiences in my life that are not just coincidence but that have happened for a reason. I know that Heavenly Father knows each of us and our individual needs better than we do. He will build us up in times of weakness to become strong. I know he calls us to do challenging tasks but he would never ask us to do something He knows we couldn't succeed at. I continually follow this gospel because it is simple and it helps me stay healthy. With all of the teachings and guides we have been given, we are kept away from the worldly temptations that can consume and over power us. I know that as we follow the teachings and principles given to us from Prophets and Apostles that they are to keep us safe. Those principles have been revealed to us for a reason and I know that we can lead by example.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by serving a mission right now. I am serving in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission right now. I have served in the past by fulfilling my priesthood duties, helping out with service projects whenever they are available, and just living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was able to help set an example for the youth of my ward who were younger than me by serving a mission. I have had many people come up to me and tell me they look up to me and thank me for my example. For mutual (youth group) back home, we would participate in scouting, service projects, fellowshipping less active members, and many other activities to include everyone. We would also play sports, have boating activities, and countless other activities. I also strive to get better at reading my scriptures every day and pray to my Heavenly Father each day. I know that Heavenly Father sees my efforts and will bless me for them. I know that as we all live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and strive to do better, that we will all be uplifted and happier. Always know that Jesus Christ suffered and atoned for the sins of the world. Every pain, affliction, sacrifice, infirmaties that we have, there is always someone else who has experienced the same thing. That person is Jesus Christ. He had to suffer and know what each and every one of us will go through in this life. I know as you and I both strive to live the teachings of the Gospel, you will be blessed and miracles will happen as long as you are being exactly obedient. I know that if we are obedient, blessings will come but if we are exactly obedient, miracles can happen! I leave you my testimony that I know Christ lives. He did atone for each and every one of our sins. We can return to live with him someday. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. We can each have our own Joseph Smith experience if we desire to have one. Pray to have the Holy Ghost with you always. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
