Hi I'm Jessie

I'm a daughter. I'm a sister. I'm a Wife. I'm a mom, I'm a mom to be again, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've always been a member. I moved a few times as a kid, three times in High School, to different states. I have a twin sister who I love dearly and four older brothers who are good to me. I have wonderful parents who aren't perfect and never will be in this world but i will always love them for who they are. I went to one year of community college before meeting my sweetheart. We then got married in the Seattle Temple for time and all eternity. My husband is a convert to the church and the only member of his family. I haven't always been strong in the church, but I have always known it is true. I love the Prophets and the Apostles. They give such good advice, but hearing it and putting it to good use are not the same thing. Life here is a test but it's open book and open note and you can use your neighbors all you want. The only thing is you have to be the one to make the final decition. I love sports like basketball and volleyball. I love to swim and I love to dive, even if the only dive I do is straight into the water. Nothing fancy. I love arts and crafts. I love being creative. I love to play board games with friends and family. I love to read good books. I'm trying to grow a garden but i'm not having much success. :) I try to be a happy person and in my short 20 years so far I feel that i have been a force for good in many peoples lives. I feel that making a difference in peoples lives is part of my mission here on Earth, and that always makes me smile.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all my life. I love the feeling I get when I go to church every sunday. I love the scriptures and all that they teach. I know this church is true. I KNOW that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God called to restore the gospel to the earth. I know my Savior lives and loves everyone of us. I'm not perfect. No one is perfect except Christ. He is our Savior and Redeemer. He is the reason we can go to live with our Father in heaven again. Through his sacrifice at the garden of gethsemane and his death on the cross, He knows our pains, our sins, even our little discomforts. He knows it all. He went through it ALL! And through His resurection, WE CAN LIVE AGAIN!! I know this with all my heart, and because I know this, I know that every thing in the church just follows that. But knowing and doing are two different things. The difference in being wise and being knowledgable is knowing how to use the knowledge that you have. That is what I struggle with, the doing. But I know that we aren't here to acheive perfection, but to strive for it our entire lives. Christ is perfect, therefor to srive for perfetion is to srive to be like Christ. To love your neighboors. To help those in need. To follow his commandments, and to follow the Holy Ghost's promptings, however small they may be. All of this having been said, Life is hard, BUT it's a wonderful place to live. It is beautiful where ever you look. That is why i am a Mormon, because I know where i'm from, I know why i'm here, I know where I'm going, and I'm always trying to be like Jesus. I see Him all around me, and I love what I see.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do what's right. I go to church every sunday for three hours. I do my part in the church. I have taught the little 5 and 6 year olds about the church and about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. I visit other sisters in the ward to see how they are doing and to offer them help if they need anything or an ear if they just need to talk. I try to be there for them, and love them. I try to read my scriptures on a daily basis, and I try to pray in the morning, and evening. I try to help those around me, wheather they be members or not. We are all children of God and I try to treat every one that way.
