Hi I'm Carol

I'm a mother of five. I'm a musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

We've been warned many times that families don't survive in Medical School. These warnings offered us a challenge. My husband and I met in our undergraduate years in the college of music. I've supported him through his BA and MD degree's. He is now in a Family Medicine Residency. While we've had to weather the storm and take what comes over having no control over his schedule, we are very close. Children were a desire from the beginning of our marriage. In 4 years, I was pregnant with our 1st child, a son. Then we purchased our first home. A quick 19-months later, our first daughter was born. Our 3rd child girl was born after an out-of-state move and 3 months into medical school which my husband delivered. Just prior to moving out-of-state at the end of medical school, I miscarried. Eight months into residency I gave birth to our 4th child, a baby girl & 19 months later a baby boy. I'll admit having an absent father was hard on our family. Each child has great needs including our ADHD child. Often, our income has been nil and morale sometimes low. I have made it a priority to keep life going. Swimming, playing at parks, studying instruments including piano, harp, cello, and viola keep us happy. Fieldtrips, outings, and participation in the communities sports and activities kept us going. Donated outings to historical monuments and events, outdoor lakes and parks bless us. We are not only surviving, we are thriving with cherished blessings.

Why I am a Mormon

I've felt undeniable blessings and love from our Supreme Heavenly Father. Common Sense has always led me to the scriptures for answers and inevitably to the entire truths found in His church. I have a yearning deep inside me that leads me to know this earthlife is not all we have to look forward to. That this is a test and there is more to come if we only keep trying to do what is right. I have an innate sense of always wanting to please my Heavenly Father and return back to live with him and my family forever.

How I live my faith

A sense of service is ingrained from my upbringing watching every sibling of mine go forth and serve a church mission. I likewise interrupted my college and served for 4 months and then another 18 months. Currently, and for the past year, I have been serving, organizing, and teaching all the children ages 12 and younger that attend our ward. I love the eagerness in these children to choose the right. I love their humility, their ability to easily forgive, and their energy. We are all growing in the gospel together. We live the gospel in our home through staying focused on respect for our blessings, avoiding many worldly trends, and keeping together to strengthen one another. We are engrossed in the scriptures daily, family prayer and reaching out.
