Hi I'm Allen

I was born and raised in Federal Way, WA. I love to think to myself outside as I stare at the sky. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old. I grew up knowing that I was supposed to get good grades in school and fulfill my duties at home such as cleaning my room and washing the dishes. I always liked to be outside playing with my brothers or exploring the woods behind my home. As I look back, during my childhood I was a very quiet and shy boy with an inquisitive mind. I always wondered why things were the way that they were and yet I was most often too afraid to ask. I always had great friends growing up with whom I got along very well as we would play baseball and tennis together on the weekends and during summer vacation. Baseball, the American pastime, is something that my family and I have always loved ever since I can remember.

Why I am a Mormon

As I stated before, I have always been one to ask myself questions. One of the great reasons why I am a Mormon is that Through our Heavenly Father's plan I have had the great opportunity to understand why things are the way that they are. I have come to feel His love and especially the love of our Savior Jesus Christ. As I have had the opportunity to ponder lifes questions and the Gospel of Jesus Christ as restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith, I have felt the peaceful warmth of the Spirit of God fill my heart with joy. Just as Paul taught that no man can say that Jesus is the Christ but by the spirit, I have recieved that witness of the spirit that the Book of Mormon is true and that God has restored the true church of Christ to the earth once more. I have always known that God loves me, but that knowledge has increased exponetialy as I have acted on what I know to be true. That is, that I know by the power of the spirit that There are once again Prophets and Apostles on the earth, and that the authority, or permission to act in Christ's name, which was taken from the earth for a period of time has now been restored for you and I in these last days.

How I live my faith

As I have read and studied the life of Christ, I see His great example of loving service towards others and I now try to emulate that example. I do my best to be what My Father in Heaven would have me be as I strive to serve those around me in love. I live my faith by getting up each time that I fall and pressing forward. I once heard that God knows that we are not perfect, but he doesn't expect us to be. What He wants is that each of His children (us) become better today than we were yesterday. I live my faith as I put my trust in Christ and never give up. Right now I have the opportunity to share the blessings that I have recieved with my friends and neighbors that I have personally recieved throughout the years. There is nothing that brings me greater joy than the smiles of my friends as they begin to understand what I came to find out through prayer many years ago.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Allen
It is really quite simple. It comes down to three steps which are search, ask, and act. To search includes to read and study the Book of Mormon, but also to seach your heart. To ask is to kneel down and ask God in prayer if what you have found in your search is true. To act is to follow the anwer that you recieve. As you do these things, you will know for yourself that Mormonism is true. Remember: "Search and ye shall find, Ask and ye shall recieve, knock and it shall be opened unto you." Show more Show less
