Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a Coloradan. I love the outdoors, mountain biking, snowboarding, longboarding, Techno music and... I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the suburbs of Las Vegas. My life was fairly simple and easy until my parents got divorced when I was 13 years old. This event was really hard on me, but ultimately changed my life and helped me find God. After the divorce my family moved to Colorado and I no longer lived with my dad; just mom and my 3 younger brothers as well. We are a crazy family. I love my life. Currently I am serving as a full time missionary for the Church in San Antonio, Texas. When I'm at home I love enjoying the outdoors. I snowboard, mountain bike, and longboard. I ran track and cross country in high school even though I was never very fast. I also used to make t-shirts for friends using spray paint. I'm also a proud Eagle Scout. Before I left on my mission, I was a student at Utah Valley University. I will return to that school after my mission and work to be accepted into medical school. My eventual goal is to become a spine specialist or surgeon. I have a long way to go. Being a missionary is the greatest opportunity of my life. I am enjoying the blessings from serving the Lord and am very grateful for all that I have. The gospel of Jesus Christ is something I am very grateful for. It has kept me on the pathway of a happy and joyful life. I am happy for the testimony that I have and love sharing it with others.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons why I'm a Mormon. The first is because I know this church is God's church and the teachings of the church are true. I have a testimony that God is real, that his son Jesus Christ is the Savior, and that the Book of Mormon is scripture. I understand and know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that the current latter-day prophet, Thomas S. Monson, is God's chosen servant and prophet on the earth. All other reasons aren't as important, but still effect why I'm a Mormon. However, another major reason I'm Mormon is because I understand the blessings and benefits God gives me when I live in the manner that he established. Throughout my life I have slipped and chosen not to live by certain of His teachings. These choices brought me unhappiness and a lot of grief. I didn't not want any of those feelings and choose not to follow a path that will lead to misery. This is why I'm a Mormon, because I know that living the teachings of the church will bring me the most happiness. Being obedient to God's laws has given me a blessed and happy life. I want this and will continue to want God's blessings until the day I die. Therefore, I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My religion is much more than a religion. It is my lifestyle. I live my faith by all the small and simple decisions that I make on a daily basis. I strive to make the best choices and the choices that God would have me make. I live a morally clean life. I don't damage the body God has given me with foreign substances. I abstain from alcohol, tobacco. or anything that could harm my being and health. I live a goal oriented life with hopes and dreams for my tomorrow, 2 years, 10 years and off into the eternities. I set goals that will help me to be focused and benefit me and then I work as hard as I possibly can until the goal is achieved. For example, I am an Eagle Scout. This accomplishment was a goal that I had when I was young in scouting and hard to work hard to achieve. A goal that I have is to go to medical school when I return from home from my mission. I will have to plan and work hard to fulfill those plans in order to accomplish my goal and open the doorway to more opportunities in the future. I am also planning on having a happy family. Currently, I am living my faith by being a missionary. Every day I share my faith and beliefs with others. I work hard to find and teach people the truth about God and help them to receive the blessings He has for them. The work I do is not easy, but it is rewarding. You could say that my goals as a missionary are the same as God's. He wants everyone to be happy and blessed and ultimately to return to Him, in heaven. This is my goal and I teach people about how God has provided this opportunity for everyone.
