Hi I'm Lonnie

I'm a Mormon. I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints and this membership has been a great blessing.

About Me

I spent my younger years on a farm and attended a one room country school, 2nd grade through 8th grade. In later years I went to a technical school to obtain an Aircraft and Powerplant license so that I could be an aircraft mechanic. I successfully completed this training, received my license and went to work for a major airline where I went up through the ranks into middle management and retired as an Operating Manager of Aircraft Maintenance after 32 years of service.. I am a father of two biological children and have one adoped child. I love to ski and to play golf.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church after receiving instruction from the full-time missionaries. My step-son had previously joined the Church and subsequently went on a mission in Europe. His testimony helped me to better understand the instruction that I was receiving and the blessings that would come with my membership in the Church. I received a testimony in my heart of the Joseph Smith story and of the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Priesthoon on the earth. After being baptized for the remission of my sins and receiving the Holy Ghost I wanted to move forward and learn as much about the Church as I could with the ultimate goal of going to the Temple and being sealed to my wife for time and enternity. .

How I live my faith

I have served in many callings in the Church which have given me the opportunity to grow and to increase my testimony and faith. Each calling, no matter the responsibilty, has the potential to provide personal growth. I am involved in the home teaching program where I have the opportunity to serve members in our ward, to uplift them in times of need, to teach them gospel principles, and to support them in any way I can. I read the scriptures and pray on a daily basis. I live the commandments and follow the teachings of our leaders in the Church. I am presently working in the Temple and receive great blessings from my service there.
