Hi I'm Julia

My husband and I met in Hollywood, California and now have 7 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

While raising my family, I also cared for children with special needs. Later in life, I became an extra working on movies. I love to sew, do embroidery, work on family history research and stay in contact with my soon to be 13 grandchildren. My parents grew up in Newfoundland in remote places that I love to visit. I love to shop in 2nd hand stores and find amazing bargains. I went tidal bore rafting in my 60's. I love the ocean especially the smell of salt air.

Why I am a Mormon

When Mormon missionaries came to our door in California in 1970, I quickly told them that I had my own religion. After closing the door to them and walking across my living room, I had a very strong thought come to my mind which was "You want to know more." I went to my husband who was studying in an adjacent room and told him that the missionaries had been at the door and that I wanted them to come back. He responded immediately and went to search for them. It took him 6 blocks to catch up with them as they thought he was coming in anger - he quickly told them that they had been at our apartment and that his wife wanted them to come back. The missionaries came back and taught us about the principles of the gospel that rang so true to us immediately.

How I live my faith

My church membership has given me opportunity to serve in many ways. I have learned to be a teacher of youth and adults but my most amazing opportunity came as I served as a choir director. I love to sing and can follow the geography of musical notes but that is all! I love to get to know the other women and families of the church and love how we care for each other.
