Hi I'm Emily

I am a college graduate. I am a stay at home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

While growing up, I was homeschooled by my mother. I have seven siblings. I played softball and swimming my whole childhood. I like American Sign Language and playing the violin. Blogging is my current passion. I love to write. I have been married for three years. I am a mother to two beautiful boys. They are the cutest things in life.

Why I am a Mormon

Nothing has ever made me happier than being a Mormon. We have moved seven times in three years, but the church is always the same. It is my constant. I can go partake of the Sacrament and learn the same teachings of Christ as I learned in another state. I have known this church is true for many years. When I was a teenager, I read the Book of Mormon, prayed about it, and received the answer that this is the true church and where I am supposed to be. I enjoy talking to people about the church and learning more about it, as I am always learning new things about the gospel. The gospel gives me a very special feeling. It is not a feeling I can get from anywhere else: it is a feeling of overwhelming truth and happiness.

How I live my faith

I love visiting teaching. It is such an inspired program. Each month, I go with my companion and visit three other women. Sometimes the women are too busy or simply don't want to be visited. This makes me so sad. Every woman deserves to have someone come to her home and listen to her. I love that no woman is forgotten in the church. Although visiting teaching starts as an assignment, it almost always becomes more than that. It forms a deep connection between women that is full of love.
