Hi I'm Ray

I live in rural Idaho. I am a k-12 school guidance counselor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Having grown up near Salt Lake City I currently live in a small town in rural Idaho with my wife and two children. Well, our children are no longer children and neither lives in Idaho. Our son recently returned home from the Philippines Manila mission and our daughter recently married in the Twin Falls Idaho temple – both moved back to Utah. I enjoy work as a k-12 guidance counselor, serving in our ward, and visiting family.

Why I am a Mormon

Though born in the Church I did not consider myself an active member until I served in the South Dakota Rapid City mission. Teaching the gospel in the mission field taught me through personal prayer that Jesus Christ did indeed live on the earth and still lives today as our divine Savior. Today, my testimony is even stronger than it was in the mission field. I know that my Redeemer lives and that He loves me. To me, being a Mormon is to be a disciple of our Savior Jesus Christ in His restored Church – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I make an effort to live my faith by study, prayer, service, and family. My wife is my companion and best friend. Together we share gospel insights, kneel in prayer, and keep in touch with our children. Individually, I study scripture each day, serve in my calling as a counselor to our Bishop, and make an effort to live a Christ-centered life.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was restored in this dispensation through the Prophet Joseph Smith to bring God’s children back to Him through His son Jesus Christ. Central to the restoration of the Church is the priesthood – the authority to act in God’s name in behalf of His church. The restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also brought forth the translation of the Book of Mormon. To know of its truth, I would encourage reading the Book of Mormon, inviting missionaries of the Church into your home, and kneeling before our Father in Heaven in sincere prayer asking Him if what you are learning is true.
