Hi I'm Mario

I'm an old-school Hip Hop dancer. I love sports especially streetball basketball. I love God and His children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently on a mission right now for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Arizona Tucson Mission. My mother is from the United States and my father is from Colombia. I'm fluent in English and Spanish. I love all things that are athletic and thought-provoking. I love trying out new things and excelling at them. I'm passionate about the scriptures. I really love people. I am working diligently to be worthy of an eternal family that I know the Lord is anxious to bless me with. Let's see.....What else we got? I've finished 2 years of college and I still have no idea what I'm going to do. All I know is that I want to do something that will truly help people a lot on a large scale. My greatest ambitions in life are to be a father, a husband, and a redeemed disciple of Jesus Christ. I love hip hop choreography and freestyling. I'm in a dance crew in Houston too, which is pretty fun. Music really takes me places and I feel it. The slow jams (R&B) are my favorite, but pretty much I love music that is either spiritually uplifting or has a sick beat (as long as it's clean). I don't know if that sums it up real well or not, but the main thing is that I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

All right, well.....I am a missionary and I could teach a lesson here in this section, but I'm just going to be real straightforward here. I will explain how I know that I am in the right faith. First off, if you look in Ephesians 4:5, it teaches us a very fundamental truth. It says, "One Lord, one faith, one baptism." We know that the Savior showed us ONE perfect example, ONE set of beliefs and interpretations of His teachings found in the scriptures, and ONE way to be baptized (the way Christ was baptized exactly). We have to remember the Lord said, "Come follow me" and NOT, 'Come kinda follow me'.....The world has formed soooo many different churches since Christ, but they ALL contradict each other in several ways. This means that they can't all be true churches in the sense that they don't have ALL the truth. Every church has some truth, but to have all the truth in a church, it must be: 1) led by the Lord, himself, through a living prophet who receives revelation for the whole world, 2) run by the priesthood authority (power and permission) of God, and 3) a church that contains ALL of Christ's teachings. I mentioned the priesthood, which is the power to act in God's name that has been used since the beginning of time. It would not make sense for the Lord to grant every faith the priesthood when there is only "one faith" because only one would be worthy of it since all the other churches are doing some things contrary to Christ's teachings. The Lord does not put us through a maze or an obstacle course to give us answers or truth. If we all desire to know the fulness of the truth, we must go to the source all truth in prayer, God, himself. He will answer ANYONE that actively seeks to know if these things are true. I am a member because it was proven to me spiritually through my prayers and logically. I have a testimony that the Lord sent me to this church specifically and I testify that these things are true in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I diligently strive to teach everyone I know through my example. Though I am not perfect, it helps me to become a better person when I constantly strive to emulate the Savior so that others may follow. I would say that one of my greatest gifts would be charity. I constantly pray to have more and more charity for everyone I come into contact with because the Savior was the perfect example of charity and you could describe Him with that one word. I think that best way to live your faith is by actually living it. The gospel or teachings of Jesus Christ is charity. John 1415 says, "If ye love me, keep my commandments", which teaches us that love for our Father in Heaven and our Savior, Jesus Christ is the motivating factor in being obedient to the commandments and there are many. The more charity that we obtain for our brothers and sisters meaning everyone and our Lord, the more capable we will be in becoming those disciples of Jesus Christ that our Heavenly Father wants us to become. By becoming like the Savior, we become eligible to be "joint-heirs" with Christ in inheriting ALL the blessings that our Savior has already acquired See Romans 816-18. Honestly, I live my faith by being my faith and I know that as I do that, I will be able to "let my light so shine" much brighter and people will want to catch hold of that light and pass that light on. Learning how to love everyone is a gift from God and just like other gifts that God gives us, we must pray for this gift continually. Talking to people of all different backgrounds, with different morals, from different parts of the world, etc. is really effective. That is what the Savior did and that is what we must do to obtain eternal happiness in the presence of God and our Savior with our families forever.
