Hi I'm Sam Wright

I am a normal guy, and a mormon

About Me

I was born in Houston Texas, but spent most of my childhood growing up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. I'm a fun loving guy who just got done with his freshman year of college. I am a college student but right now I have deferred for 2 years in order to serve a mission. I like school and making friends, just being around people I love makes me happy. I grew up in a family of 8, with two older sisters and three little brothers who I love very much. I like to sing. I was in a school choir for six years and really learned how to work with others in order to make music. Most of those years in school I was in a pretty exlcusive choir, and my senior year I was also in a very small choir where a handful of us students and our director would practice only outside of school. I sort of regret not singing in the University chorus, but I was sure as a biology major I would be kept busy. I was right! I love figuring out how things work, whether it's biological, mechanical, sociological, psychological, or arithmatical! I just like knowing how things work together to create something none of the individual parts could do alone. That is why I am fascinated by the body and the anatomy and physiology of it all. I also like sports! I like to watch sports but I'd much rather play them myself. My favorite sports to play are basketball and football. I used to be the center on my basketball team and the tight-end on my football team. Oh ya, and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I know the gospel is true. I can't deny it. I understand who I really am, a child of God. This life can be hard but that's the way it's supposed to be. I think we are here to provo something to ourselves. God knows who were are and who were can one day become, so we need to trust in Him. I am I Mormon because I feel the spirit in my life, and I just feel good about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I remember praying one night wanting to know if the church was true. I felt a calm and reassuring feeling that I knew could only have come from God. The church is true and I love it!

How I live my faith

Right now I am living my faith by spreading the gospel! I am a missionary who has been called to serve in the Pennsylvania Philadelphia mission! On my mission I look for opportunities to serve others, and help them understand God's plan for them. While on my mission I constantly keep in mind that the work that I am doing, is the same that Christ did in His time. Christ went forth proclaiming His gospel and serving others as well. Christ had a pure love for all of those around Him, even though He was often persecuted and physically hurt by those very people. I try to exemplify Christ as I spread His gospel. I try to do it in the way I think He would want it done, which is with that very same love. Whether it's providing free manual labor, preaching the gospel, or just giving someone who is struggling someone to talk to. I think the best way to show your faith is to live it! Lead by example! I'm happy. If others can see that even in times of hardship that I am happy with my life, then they might want to find out what makes me glad. I can tell you right now it is my faith. When everything around me comes crashing down, there is one thing that will always stand tall, and that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If I remember what is important in life, and that my Heavenly Father loves me, all those other problems seem much smaller. I know that the hardships in my life are growing experiences, just like my struggle with depression when I was younger. I believe that I have learned and grown from that experience and I am now stronger than I was at that time. I love my Heavenly Father, my family, and Christ my Savior and Redeemer, and I show my faith to honor them.
