Hi I'm Rebekah

I'm a student, avid reader, and an artist. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a freshman in college. I am working towards a major in Psychology and a minor in Visual Art. In my free time, I am often seen reading, drawing, and doing crafts. I also love going on long walks. My favorite subjects in school have always been Art and Psychology.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because of the hope it brings into my life. The atonement of Jesus Christ covers all, not just our sins, but our pains, mistakes, and sorrow. It is good to know that no matter what happens, I will always have a friend in my Savior. I believe in the truthfulness of the Bible. I also believe in the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, which is a companion to the Bible, another testament of Jesus Christ. Both the Bible and the Book of Mormon guide me through my everyday life. I also know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has a living prophet that leads and guides this church. He truly is a prophet, seer, and revelator. I know that I am a child of God, and that my Heavenly Father loves me. It gives me hope to know that I can return to live my Father in Heaven. Also, that my family, here on earth, can be with me FOREVER.

How I live my faith

I am a member of the Compassionate Service Committee. I serve members in the church in a variety of ways. I cook dinners, volunteer, and comfort those who are in need.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement is when Jesus Christ suffered and atoned for our sins. He came to more fully know each of us individually by suffering for each individual sin, pain, and sorrow. By utilizing the Atomement in our lives, we grow closer to our Savior and our Father in Heaven. We come to realize how much love they have for us, and how they know you more than any other person. It was necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life, in order for the bonds of death to be broken. Heavenly Father needed a way for us to be able to live with Him again, with our bodies and spirits united. Christ did die, but He rose again, with a body, so that we can do that as well. Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

No one is perfect. However, in order to live with God again, we need to become perfect. To become like Him. Jesus Christ suffered for sins and mistakes that we make, so that we can BECOME perfect. Our Heavenly Father wants us to live with Him again. The opportunity to live forever in happiness is something that CAN be achieved. We, as Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is everyone's Savior. He provided a way for us to be forgiven, if we sincerely repent. Show more Show less
