Hi I'm Brandon

I'm a sports and film fan. I love my family. I love to baptize and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah but grew up in California. I'm currently serving a 2 year full time mission in the Florida Jacksonville Mission. I played baseball and basketball growing up as a kid in Folsom, California. I'm fascinated by the world of sports and love watching and participating in them. Sportscenter is probably the most viewed program on TV for me. I could probably name and qoute every anaylist on Sportscenter. It never gets old. I'm also big into film. I worked at a movie theater for 4 years and studied film making and history in school. Working around and studying film has always been interesting to me. Filming movies with my friends has become a great tradition and I get a lot of joy and entertainment out of being creative and funny. My family however is the most important thing to me in my life. My family supercedes everything in importance. That hasn't always been the case though. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has helped me realize that and I'm forever grateful for that.

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion comes from the Atonement of Jesus Christ. What is the Atonement? It is three parts: Christs suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, His suffering and death on the cross and His ressurection. I have felt His love for me and knowing that all my sins can be forgiven and that Christ suffered for that to be possible has been life changing for me. Overcomming mistakes I've made in my life has been a huge confirmation to me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lords church back on the earth prepatory to the Second Coming of the Messiah. That is why I am a Mormon. How might you ask did I find that out? Because I read and prayed about the Book of Mormon which combined with the Bible teaches the pure doctrine of the Atonement and helped me use it in my life. It provided me with the knowledge that Christ lives and that His church is back on the earth and that as I continue to live faithfully I will have the opportunity to live with my family again after this life. Knowledge of this did not come all at once. It came over time through prayer, study, experience and keeping Gods commandments.

How I live my faith

Well I live my faith by sharing it with others. I'm currently serving as a missionary for 2 years of my life to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them recieve the restored gospel. I study the scriptures daily and strive to be obedient to the commandments of God at all times. Learning from mistakes is a daily battle. I live me faith by never being satisfied by the "status quo," and trying to broaden my knowledge about the gospel and how I can apply it in my life daily.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Of course! The Bible is the word of God as long as it is translated correctly. As latter day saints we read from the King James Version. How many other translations of the Bible are there? Lots. But God is the same today, yesterday and forever. The Bible and the Book of Mormon testify of each other. The Book of Mormon is ANOTHER testament of Jesus Christ. Today we have thousands of churches with thousands of different interpretations of the gospel found in the old and new testament. God knew this is how it was going to be in the latter days and prepared a way for us to know the true doctrine of Christ that cannot be changed by mans own interpretation of the scriptures. A SECOND WITNESS. The Book of Mormon IS the word of God right alongside the Holy Bible. Together we have the fullness of the gospel. The Holy Ghost bears witness of this truth to those who are honest seekers of the truth. John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen. Matthew 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. Show more Show less
