Hi I'm Kaela

I am studying International Relations. I love the mountains, new experiences, and making a difference. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I returned to the city where I was born to attend college 1,000 miles away from home. I love using the French and Arabic I've learned, as well as expanding myself in any way I can. I've found opportunities along my way I'd never dreamed I would have that have made me who I am today. My family is everything to me. I love hiking, backpacking, bonfires, fireworks, cooking, and Christmas. I'm a compulsive list-maker and I wish I could make pottery all day. I've visited 25 of the 50 states, and can't wait to fill my passport. I don't know what my future holds, but I trust that the Lord's hand will continue to be in my life and I can't wait to see what lies ahead.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been in the church for generations, and I was born into that legacy. I had to choose time and time again whether I would commit to follow the principles I'd been taught in my youth, and wish I'd done a better job of sharing the gospel through my example. Nothing makes me happier than knowing that I am a child of God, that He cares about every detail of my life, and hears every word of every prayer uttered aloud or in my heart. He has provided the way for me to become like Him and to spend an eternity with those I love most. We are allowed sorrow in our lives to better appreciate joy, but each experience brings us one step closer to what we can become. Nothing brings me more peace than feeling the Holy Ghost witness of the love my Heavenly Father and Savior have for me. I know this is Their plan.

How I live my faith

I try to take advantage of every opportunity possible to be close to the Lord. I attend church meetings on Sundays as well as religious classes during the week. I help coordinate activities for the other young single adults with whom I attend church. I go out with the missionaries to spread the truthfulness of the gospel whenever I have the chance. I read my scriptures and the words of the prophet today, and try to use my testimony and the things I learn to buoy up those around me.
