Hi I'm Nathan

I just turned 50. I'm a new grandpa. I love life. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

About Me

I enjoy family life with my wife and three children. Living in a small town has been and ideal setting to raise my family. As a physical therapist at the hospital I strive to help people recover from pain and disability. I am actually just an ordinary type of guy. I go to the school activities with my kids, church with my family, and we take occasional vacations. We recently went to China. Road trips have been fun. We enjoy hiking in the mountains and bike riding on the paths around the state. Each year we have a big water fight in the back yard with our children's friends to celebrate school getting out for the summer. I like to film and edit short movies for work. It kind of gets the creativity going. I am a far side fan and my wall at work is covered with far side cartoons.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have read the Book of Mormon and asked God in prayer if it is correct. Having received an affirmative answer from my Heavenly Father I am now striving to do all I can to follow the inspiration He has given me. I constantly receive more light and understanding as my knowledge and experience in the gospel grows. I have been blessed in many ways for my participation. My family is the most important thing for me. I love my wife and expect that our marriage will last throughout this life and into the next life. My children love each other and get along with each other. My children even respect their parents. The Church has been a great asset to me in raising my children and reinforcing the values that I consider important. Each week we spend time as a family reading the scriptures and discussing god's plan. The Bible and the Book of Mormon have been essential parts of our families religious education. I find great joy in having my family kneel together in family prayer and hearing my children pray for each other.

How I live my faith

My faith is a constant part of my life. Each day starts with personal prayer. Next I pray with my wife. Following scripture reading (5-10 min) we have family prayer and blessing on the food etc. At work I frequently get into religious discussions with the people I meet who are recovering from injuries. People are just great. I see them as children of God who are my brothers and sisters. The evenings seem to be filled with small town family life. We serve in the church, have family home evening, go to movies together, have church activities like dinners, plays, sporting events. We visit people or have people over at times. Through my life I have had many different assignments at church that have given me great experiences and opportunities for personal progress. I have been asked to give talks in front of congregations; teach classes of adults, youth, or children; been involved with service opportunities of all kinds. It has been great! My wife and children have likewise been blessed. I have enjoyed seeing my children give a talk or share a scripture in front of many people. I like seeing them take responsibility that is given them and have great opportunities to grow. We all have continued opportunities to serve each other and enjoy developing new talents and abilities. Best of all it is in a wholesome environment with people who have a genuine interest in each other's well being.
