Hi I'm Craig Nelson

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I was born and raised a Mormon and have ancestors from the early days of the church.

About Me

I am a self-employed business management consultant. My wife and I have seven children and four grandchildren, and have been married for 31 years. We enjoy living in the Midwest because the people are so warm and friendly. We enjoy hiking and camping in the mountains and deserts of Utah. We also enjoy boating, especially at Lake Powell in Arizona and Utah. We are active in the community and neighborhood, and stay involved with our children in their schools. We enjoy serving people in our neighborhoods, and appreciate the close friendships we have developed with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know for myself through prayer and living the gospel that The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's restored church on the earth. When I was a young man of fourteen years of age, I began studying the Book of Mormon and thinking about God's plan of salvation for each of us, His children. I felt the truth of the Book of Mormon witnessed to my soul by the power of the Holy Ghost. I have felt a mighty change in my own heart from living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am filled with a desire to help and serve people. I have felt the joy that comes from a remission of my sins, and have a firm and abiding faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ, and his role as Savior and Redeemer. I know that Joseph Smith was called as a true prophet to restore the Lord's ancient church in these latter days. I am filled with a hope in Christ, and a hope in eternal life in the presence of God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. I know that the priesthood of God has been restored to the earth, and am humbled and grateful to have the privilege of bearing that priesthood as an ordained minister of the Lord Jesus Christ. I have been a witness to the mighty miracles of the Lord, both in my life and in the lives of many others. I testify that God the Father lives, and that Jesus is the Christ, the living son of the living God. I also testify that there are prophets and Apostles again on the earth, who hold the keys of God's kingdom here on the earth. I testify of the purifying power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and invite all who read my witness and testimony to come unto Him, and receive a remission of your sins, and obtain faith in Him unto the salvation of your soul.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by daily striving to keep the commandments. I do this in many ways, including praying, reading the scriptures, and serving others. I renew my covenants with the Lord each week when I partake of his holy sacrament, and strive to become more like my Savior in all that I do. I have discovered for myself that as I live the gospel and keep the commandments, I come to love Him more and more, and I stand in awe of His perfect life and perfect attributes. I am strengthened daily by my family as they strive to live the same way. I am particularly inspired by my wife, who is full of faith and devotion. She is an inspiration to me and to all who know her. I am also inspired by many other Mormons who live the same way. The church is a community of saints who love and serve each other. It is a remarkable blessing to be a part of it, and it is the very foundation of my entire life.
