Hi I'm Melody

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a degree in Health Science Education with a minor in Spanish Education, but am currently taking time away from my career to be a wife and mommy to my husband and two little girls.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the LDS faith. I have always believed the Church to be true, but it wasn't until I was a missionary in New York City that I really understood WHY. It's not that the Church's doctrine is more accurate than other faiths, or that I enjoy the fellowship of other members (although it is, and I do). Rather, the reason why I continue to be faithful is because the Holy Ghost has testified to me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is actually led by Jesus Christ. It is HIS church, restored again to the earth because Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to know him and return to him. I feel that I would be utterly lost without the guidance of the prophet and the Holy Ghost in my life. They are what connect me to my Father in Heaven. Knowing that the Church is the one true source of doctrine and divine authority in the entire world, I can't imagine ever straying from it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching my children that they have a Father in Heaven who loves them and with whom they can communicate through prayer. Being a parent is such a huge responsibility with enormous consequences, good or bad. I try to see my kids as God would see them and help them to achieve their potential on all fronts. I try to be honest in every situation, even if it means telling the waitress she didn't charge me enough at a restaurant. Being an example of Christ is not always easy, but I have promised my Father in Heaven that I will strive to do so. I find that treating people with kindness and respect usually causes them to treat me that way in return.
