Hi I'm Marshall

I'm a reader. I'm a cat lover. I love the rain. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 22 years old. I grew up in Washington State. When I was 5 we moved to Germany for a couple years then back to Washington. I served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints form 2010 to 2012. I love fantasy books and I love reading the scriptures. Especially the Book of Mormon. I love the beauty of nature and going hiking. I love food and I love experimenting with cooking and creating delicous foods off the top of my head. I especially love bakery/homemade bread and Mexican food.... Mmmm.... Now I'm hungry. I married my best friend and wife, Sasha, in February of 2013. Currently I am attending college trying to get my degree in Mechanical Engineering. I don't really know what my life will hold, but I'm confident that my Savior will guide me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon, because I've received a personal witness from my Father in Heaven that this is His church. As I've read the Book of Mormon, I've grown closer to Christ and felt of his Love. I grew up in the church and from a very young age I knew it was all true. I'm not perfect and I've had my own struggles and trials, but I've turned to Christ and he has supported me. There was a period in my life when I got extremely depressed. I hated myself. I prayed more earnestly during that time then I ever had before. There was one night when I was pacing around my house and the Spirit hit me stronger than it ever had before. I could literally feel my Saviors arms around me and I could literally feel his love for me. Later as I was reading the Book of Mormon I again felt the Holy Ghost except this time I felt My Fathers Love for all His Children. I know My Savior Lives. I know that he loves you and me and all of our Father's children. I testify that Jesus is The Christ, The Savior of all Mankind. No power on earth can take this from me. The Savior truly does carry our griefs and makes our burdens light. He can heal us. We are children of God.

How I live my faith

Every day I strive to live my faith by being a good husband to my wife and showing her of my love and support. I strive to live close to God by reading the scriptures, praying and attending church. Me and my wife read the scriptures together every night. Right now we are reading through the book of Acts.Though I am very much so human, I do my best to be a good neighbor and help others who need it.

What is faith?

To me Faith is trusting God and Jesus Christ enough to follow them. It's much more than a simple belief. It's a way of life. Its an action. Its going about every day doing good to others with a positive outlook on life. It's the foundation of my life and the power by which miracles occur. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is not this unknown entity, but is in reality our Heavenly Father. He is perfect in every way and knows us personally. He loves me. He loves you. He knows you. As it says in 1 John 4:8, "...God is love..." Everything that we have is a gift from him. He wants us to be as happy as he is and will help us endure our trials and tribulations. I know that he has a physical, perfected body and that we are his children (Romans 8:16). Show more Show less
