Hi I'm Selau

I am Samoan, born and raised in New Zealand. Now living in Queensland. I'm a mother of 3 children. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I've been happily married 5 years now to the most amazing man for me and enjoying life as a stay at home mother of 3 children. I grew up in an average size family doing the typical polynesian upbringing activities which I love - singing, dancing and playing a lot of sport that kept us close and now have fond memories of. What I like to do now is spend quality time with my family, whether it be going to the park, getting ice cream or just watching a movie at home.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the gospel and always had a good feeling about what I was being taught and when I did what was taught, the blessings that came from it. I know for sure that Jesus Christ died for me and has made it possible for me and my family to return back to live with him and Heavenly father again. I chose to stay a member of the church because through the teachings I know that God lives and answers prayers. He knows my weaknesses and my strengths and guides me through good and bad times. I feel happier knowing that my children also have the opportunity to build a strong foundation of the truthfulness of the gospel at a young age and know that one day they too will make their own choices and decide for themselves. I'm not perfect but I'm trying and knowing what I know, I can deal with trials and challenges with an eternal perspective and live each day trying to be better.

How I live my faith

One thing I love about being a Mormon is I always have opportunities to bless the lives of others in and outside of church. At the moment I do not hold a calling due to expecting my third child, but throughout the years I have been able to work with primary aged children, youth and adults. My most recent calling was "1st Councilor in the Young Womens" - so working with youth girls ages 12-17. I was able to help teach them to keep high moral standards, plan and carry out wholesome activities with them and help prepare them for motherhood. Each month I visit 3 assigned families in our area with a companion from church to share an uplifting message with them and also see how they're doing and if they need help with anything, spiritual/physical. I believe that service to others is the perfect way of living a christlike life and doing what I know to be true.
