Hi I'm Debbie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I am a mom that works fulltime outside of the home. I am a financial secretary at a middle school. I have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. I have been divorced and remarried. I like to hike, camp, and quilt.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was a member of the church, my dad was not. We never went to church much when I was little but when I turned 12 I was determined to go the youth programs there like my brothers did. Then my older brother and I started attending Sunday School and Sacrament meetings. We went alone for several years, then others of my family started to attend. I have never missed a week of church since I was 12 unless I was sick or out of town. At first it was just a fun place to go where I made friends that also went to my school. But after listening to the lessons that were taught and studying on my own I gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I read the scriptures daily and pray daily. I love learning all I can about the gospel! Even as long as I have been a member now I still learn new things all the time. I know the gospel is true! That Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and that there is a Prophet on the earth today, Thomas S. Monson that leads guides and directs the church. I know that Jesus is the Christ and that he atoned for the sins of the world.

How I live my faith

I try hard to live up to the name Mormon. I do not drink coffee, tea or liquer, I eat meat sparingly and exercise regularly. I try to live Gospel standards at home and at work. At home in my neighborhood I try to be a good neighbor to everyone. At work I keep in mind that all my work needs to be done with integrity. I try to say and act the way people would expect a Mormon to act. I try to be friendly to everyone and I do not judge anyone for who they are or what they believe. I would like to think that if I respect others they will respect me as well.
