Hi I'm Heather

I love to dance, sing, sign and laugh. I love being a Mormon!

About Me

I am a middle child of seven with 3 older brothers and 3 little sisters. Some of my favorite things to do are communicating with deaf people in American Sign Language (ASL), swing dancing, swinging at the park, and laughing. I like to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. I love to smile. I am a student at Utah Valley University and I donate my hair for cancer victims.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to grow up in the church. My parents taught me to believe in God and helped me to finish reading the Book of Mormon before I was baptized at age 8. Some people have asked me how I decided to join the church, I tell them that I grew up in the church, but that I also had to find out for myself that it was true. I don't remember a specific moment when it hit me that the church was true, but it came in small pieces as I experimented on the things that I was taught. I remember specific moments when I did know that Joseph Smith is a prophet, when I knew God answered my prayers, when I knew that we have a prophet on the earth today. But I really had to try it out for myself to know it was true. I feel like I was born knowing that Jesus is the Christ, that God loves me and that the church was true, but I knew that the only way that I could really KNOW it was true is if I prayed about it and experimented on it. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy and because it is TRUE!

How I live my faith

I love to study the scriptures everyday, especially the Book of Mormon. I visit women in the church each month, talk to them, become friends with them, and help them with things they need. I pray every morning, every night, and in between. I look for daily miracles.

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Well, let me tell you. There are 5 easy steps. 1. Talk to a member of the church and the missionaries 2. Read the Book of Mormon 3. Ponder it in your heart 4. Ask God if it is true 5. Receive your answer that it is true and be baptized by someone holding the priesthood authority of God. Show more Show less
