Hi I'm Mark

Husband and Father of four, sports enthusiast, coach of my kids baseball and basketball teams, I work in high-tech. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have worked in high tech over the last 24 years of my life and enjoy the fast paced dynamic industry that it is. Being a Father and Husband however, comes first and foremost in my life. My family balances and puts perspective to my busy day to day job which can be overwhelming all to often. I love business and earned my BS in Finance and MBA after being in the workforce for seveal years. I am a WSJ, bloomberg junkie and love keeping up to date with the markets and developments around the world that affect business and the economy. What I really enjoy is leadership, development, coaching, mentoring people...whether in sports with my Kids and others or in the businessworld within organizations and teams. I have worked for a few F100 companies, but can honestly say; it comes down to the people and leadership that make all the difference. I spend a good share of my time studying and reading the habits and practices of top leaders in corporate America and abroad. I devote my discrectionary time to developing my own practices of leadership so that I can have positive influence and impact to others beyond just myself. Outside of this, I do my best to stay in shape in the gym, lower my handicap on the golf course, or just keep up with my kids who have very busy schedules of their own!

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon is simple. My faith is more than just a weekend visit to the chapel. It is a way of life that shapes and clearly defines who I am, the purpose to life, and where I am going. It puts perspective and provides answers to what this life is all about and what is most important. Without this gospel and truth, I believe that I would devote my time to the material and superficial, and would not have the balance, quality of family life, or peace of mind I do now. Many challenges, trials I have faced throughout my life, I have a deeper understanding of the "why" because of this gospel and as such it has given me a new "lens" to look through which has made me a much stronger and better person. As a Mormon, I am a Christian, and have a deep appreciation for the suffering and sacrifice that Jesus went through for me personally and for mankind. I also know that our life here and now is for a higher purpose from God vs. the material and superficial that the world focuses so much on. This keeps me grounded and balanced in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be an ethical, moral, honest, authentic Christian day to day. I strive to step outside my normal selfish tendencies and find ways to serve in various ways. I look to serve those not only in my Church but also in my community. I have always loved coaching youth in sports, I have gotten involved in Habitat for Humanity, charity events etc. Within my church I enjoy visiting several families monthly whom I have jurisdicaiton over through a program we call home teaching. This program allows us to look after, teach, and support the needs of others outside of our own family. In turn we have other hometeachers look after my family and it is comforting to know that we watch out for one another. The LDS Church provides so many great ways to serve and support the needs of others. In past church callings I have served with the youth and young men in teaching Sunday lessons and being involved with them in weekly activities to mentor, assist, and support. I currently hold a calling where I enjoy teaching and answering questions for those not of our faith who want to know more. In the end, I truly appreciate the opportunities my faith affords me to serve in so many ways so that I don't get too caught up in just myself and learn to live more of a fullfilling Christian life!
