Hi I'm Vanessa

I'm a desert rat. I love the arts. I love to laugh. And I'm a Latter-day Saint.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California. I lived in the High Desert most my life and I love it!! Nothing can beat the desert skys. I love anything outdoors. I love being able to jump in the car and just drive anywhere the road takes me. The beach, the mountains, in-n-out :-D ....My favorite thing to do that brings me so much joy is swing dancing!! There's nohting like a good tune and being able to fly around a crowded room with your good friends. I also love art, exploring, rock band, my family and my close friends who pretty much are also my family!! Right now I have put that all on hold to serve a mission in the Houston Texas Mission. I miss my family but there is nothing like leaving family for 18 months to give others the chance to have what I have, which is an eternal family. I want everyone to experience the blessings God wants each of his children to have. I'm excited to continue being a missionary even when I return home and raise my own family. One day, I would like to be a piolet! I love the feeling of being in the air and going against the law of gravity. The world looks so peaceful when you're watching it from afar.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with amazing parents that raised me with good morals. I've always known in my heart that this was the right church but there comes a point in everyones life where they have to gain their own testimony. A testimony that this really is Christ's church, a testimony in Christ himself, in the commandments we're asked to live, in everything good. After I graduated high school, I began attending a singles ward (a group of unmarried LDS people between the ages 18-30) and met some truely amazing people there. Through their personal testimonies that they've gained that were sharred with me, and through many of my own experiences I've had to build my own testimony, I grew a ton! I've learned a lot of right from wrong and a lot of faith in Christ. Everything truely is centered on Christ. Every experience, everything we do and say, everything. Now that I've been on a mission, it has watered those seeds in me immensely to the point where I don't only have faith in many of the principals of doctrines of the gospel, but I've been able to live them and to know that they are real and they are the way Christ wants us to live because they really are the things that bring us the most happiness. I know this is Christs church and I know that Heavenly Father does love each and every single one of us more then we could ever imagine. I see it in the lifes of others everyday!

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day. I live my faith by using the pricaples of faith in Christ and repentance. I live my faith by keeping His commandments to the best of my ablity so that living my faith will increase my faith. Many times I hear people say that they have no means to go out in the world and live their faith. You don't need money, you don't need any worldly possessions, you don't need popualrity or recognition to live in faith. All you need is a broken heart and a contrite spirit. When we're desiring to line our wills with Gods will and acctually trying to make that happen, we our living by faith. I don't concider myself perfect at that by any means, but I do give glory to my Savior, Jesus Christ for helping me in every step of the way to live to the best of my ability and glory to Him for the forgivness He gives me when I don't live to the best of my ability. We don't need to be perfect, but we need to try. And we NEED to help others. We are ALL Gods children and He loves each and every single one of us.
