Hi I'm Jared

I work in advertising. I am preparing for fatherhood. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of six kids. My family and religion are intertwined and very important to me. A year and a half ago I married the most beautiful girl in the world (sorry guys!), and we love our lives together. In April we will welcome the next addition to our family with a baby girl. We are so excited! I just started a job in Atlanta, GA and am really enjoying it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that is very strong in the church. We went to church, prayed, and read scriptures together. However, there came a point when I needed to know for myself if the church was true, if God was real, and if I really believed everything I was taught. I came to know that God and His son Jesus Christ are real through feelings from the Holy Ghost. As I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true, I received the same comforting feelings of the Spirit. Little by little the Holy Ghost has confirmed in my heart that things I have learned in church are true. I'm a Mormon because I know it is God's true church and it fills my life with joy.

How I live my faith

To me, living my faith is more than going to church and saying my prayers. I live my faith by trying to be more like Jesus Christ and doing the things He would like me to do. I am far from perfect, but I try to be kind to others and help out when there's a need. I try to do this in work, church, and with whoever is around me.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Jared
In my opinion, this doctrine is one of the sweetest truths that our church teaches. Marriage is not just "till death do you part," but forever. Your parents will still be your parents after this life and your kids will still be your kids. God is our Heavenly Father. We are His children. The greatest joy one can experience is in the family and God wanted us to experience that. He wants us to have families and feel that joy forever. One of the hardest experiences of my life was when my uncle passed away suddenly, leaving behind a family with young children. However, everyone in the family knew that we would see him again. His children knew that he would always be their dad. His wife knew that she would be with him again someday as husband and wife. That's how God wants families to be. Of course to receive this great blessing, we must live worthily. We must obey God's commandments and make and keep covenants. This gives members of the church extra incentive to live righteously and work to make our families united, strong, and happy. Show more Show less
