Hi I'm Chak

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at a university of Hawaii, studying Accounting and Business. I lived in Brixham of England; Nevada, Hawaii of the U.S.; Sydney, Canberra, Hurstville and Wollongong of Australia. I have come to love diversity.

Why I am a Mormon

How do you explain that salt is salty? I was 17 and was about to write a book on agnosticism. The truth is, I only began writing a few pages of the book. One day I was challenged by my roommate to read and prove the Book of Mormon to be wrong. I took the challenge. Instead of finding faults, I found myself marveling at each word of the true and pure book. I read the whole book and humbly prayed to ask God if it were true. I promised if the answer is revealed, I would tell the world my testimony. Within 12 months, I went on a two-year mission because I came to know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God which is comparable to the Bible. You can only know the taste of salt only when you have experienced and tasted it.

How I live my faith

True faith leads to action. I am led to believe a new mission of my live which is to bring happiness to those around me. From the moment of my conversion, I knew I needed to dedicate my live to the Lord and take care of each around me. I simply strive to become my brother's keeper.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son." We all know this scripture from John3. However, I had a hard time understanding. It seems like India, China, Middle Eastern Countries and other nations have their own God. It happened that Jerusalem has a few Gods: Muslims', Christians' and Jewish's. However, which one is true? Are they all true together or all wrong together. We have the Bible of people of the Middle East testifying of Jesus Christ; in addition, the Book of Mormon and its people of the American Continents also testify of the same God, Jesus Christ. That testify that God truly loves the world and send His Son to nations, not just Jerusalem. Joseph Smith did not participate in the process of writing of the Book, but translating. He was visited by an angel of God and instructed to obtain and translate. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

The Bible is one of my favorite books. For it is a record of the history of Jesus. Show more Show less
