Hi I'm Brooke

I'm a Mormon. My faith has strengthened me to overcome my disability. I love being a Mom!

About Me

I have been married for 22 wonderful years to a husband who loves to laugh and I have four children. I love to do fun activities with my family like going on picnics, visiting the mountains or beach, going to the zoo and museums or anything else we can do together. We enjoy the unity that it builds with us and our friends. I am so grateful to know that we are sealed as a family in the temple that we can be together forever.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of Jesus Christ's church has given me the strength I need to face my challenges in life. Due to multiple illnesses I cannot eat or drink anymore and receive the food and water I need through a feeding tube. It is not always easy to cook and prepare meals for my family when I cannot eat them, but I have found strength in my Savior, Jesus Christ who makes my burdens light through His wondrous Atonement. It comforts me and gives me strength each day to pray to my Heavenly Father and ask Him for the things I stand in need of. I know He hears and answers our prayers. I no longer view my feeding tube as a disability as my limitations have helped me find new strengths. My experiences help me to better understand others who live with disabilities of their own. Our local church members have been a great strength to me and my family also. They have often stepped in and made meals for my family, taken children to lessons, and been there as a moral support for us. The Lord has told us that we should help bear one another's burdens, and the members of our church have always been there to give us the support we need.

How I live my faith

I enjoy being a camp director for the young ladies in our neighborhood. We have had a lot of fun up in the mountains together! One of my favorite camp memories is a sunrise hike we took. Forty young ladies and I got up at 4:30 AM to hike to a peak so that we could watch the sun come up together. We talked about our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and how He is the light of the world. I also teach youth in our church a Sunday School lesson each week from the Bible and Book of Mormon. I love to talk to young people as they share with me their experiences and as we learn together from the scriptures. I enjoy teaching young people because I love their enthusiasm for life.
