Hi I'm Josh

I'm an awful story teller, a traveler, a loving husband, a downhill skateboarder, a fan of economics and reading and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband who got lucky and married the most beautiful woman in the world. I am inquisitive. I am fascinated with reading non fiction and try and learn as much as I can. I love skateboarding and being active. I love conversation and people. I love economics, accounting, and interpersonal communication. I like forming my own opinions about things and strive to have individual thought. I like to argue. I love reading about many different Religions and how they seem to relate to one another. I love Red Lobster. I am quite a fan of primates. I think science and space are incredible to read about. I love history. I love video games. I like documentaries. I like motivating people and motivating people. Most of all I just like hanging out with my Wife and striving to be a little better each and every day.

Why I am a Mormon

First of all I am very grateful for an understanding family. I was first raised a Catholic, when I was in third grade my parents went through a divorce and I had to move to a different part of town. I found this very difficult and had to manage with the emotions and questions that sprung up from that. I also had to deal with the stress of moving to a new school and making new friends. After all the searching I met and became best friends with the person I am still best friends with today. I used to spend hours at his house each day. His house always seemed to have a different feeling. I didn't understand why his family was so happy and why his parents never seemed to argue. As I grew older and spent a large amount of my time with his family, I began to feel very comfortable and I began to realize that sweet feeling that I felt and the closeness of their family was because they chose to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As the years passed I was invited to Boy Scouts and other church activities. The fateful day came when the missionaries knocked on my door and asked if I wanted to learn more. I was hesitant at first, however I accepted and through their teaching I was able to feel that feeling in my home and my life. I still have that feeling, which I learned later was the Holy Spririt, and I strive to keep it with me every single day. Having the Spirit and strong family bonds is the main reasons why I am a Mormon. It has made me into a very optimistic and happy individual.

How I live my faith

As a newly married couple we have had the opportunity to move into a new ward (chapel) with a family ward. My wife and I met, were married shortly after, and came from a single's ward which was comprised of single 18-30 year adults. I live my faith every morning when I kiss my wife and tell her how beautiful she is. I live my faith by striving to be better every single day. I live my faith by attending Church every week and visiting members every single month for Home Teaching. I also live my faith by going to the Temple with my wife and honor those who have gone before us. Most importantly I live my faith, by loving my neighbor and my God.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons and the rest of Christendom accept the Bible to be the word of God. We as Mormons revere the Bible immensely, we believe the stories of Noah, Moses, and Solomon. We cheer with Esther, and we pity David. The Bible is a book that is God inspired and has many lessons to teach us till this day. However, much like the secular world, we know that the Bible has many translations. Many of us cannot speak or read Greek, Hebrew, Latin, or Aramaic. Because of this we know that the Bible and any historical document is prone to error. We believe the Bible to be the word of God so long as it is translated correctly. Because of this uncertainly about what is exactly translated correctly, God in his infinite wisdom prepared an additional testament of Jesus Christ that was written during the time of the Old Testament. The Book of Mormon coupled with the Bible contains the fullness of the ever lasting gospel and will teach a man how to not only return to God, but how to become more Godlike and good to his neighbor. I have a testimony of this book and it has been THE difference in my life. Show more Show less
