Hi I'm Scott

I'm a compliance engineer. I used to live in Bolivia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an engineer, a husband and a dad living in Colorado with my wife and daughter. After being a missionary in El Salvador for two years, then graduating from college, my knowledge of Spanish helped me get a job that sent me to Bolivia to live for a few years. While there, I met my beautiful wife. We've since moved back to the States and now have a lovely daughter who is the apple of our collective eyes.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family. I was taught about the Church from a very young age. The time came in my own life when I had to find out for myself if the things I had always been taught as a child were real. I read the Book of Mormon and took up the challenge in Moroni 10:3-5 - I got down on my knees and prayed to ask if it was true. I felt the Holy Ghost strongly confirming that the Book of Mormon, and the Church, are true. Now, years later and after quite a few other spiritual experiences, I continue to be a faithful member.

How I live my faith

In our congregation, I serve as a counselor in the bishopric. The leader of each congregation, or ward, is the bishop. As one of two counselors that he has, I have the privilege of helping him. It is a great blessing to be able to work with the young children and the leaders that serve them, as well as the youth of our ward - mostly teenagers. We also seek the Lord's will on how we can help individuals and families grow in their spirituality and how members can serve each other. It is a great blessing to feel the guidance of the Holy Ghost as we strive to help everyone in our congregation feel closer to our Savior Jesus Christ.
