Hi I'm Karen.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.

About Me

I'm a mother of two grown children, both on their own. My husband is not a member of the church, but he is a wonderful man who loves and supports me in my life activiites both in and out of the church. I enjoy music and singing. Working out and being physically active is important to me, and yet I still have experienced unforeseen health challenges. These challenges have been a humbling experience, and I have had to rely on the Lord and his priesthood to help me to deal with the possibility of surgery and being less active physically. Through the miracle of medicine and the miracle of my faith, I look forward to being whole again. I look to the Lord with faith and hope, for I know that his atonement covers not only my pain and suffering but all of mankind.

Why I am a Mormon

Membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is important to me, because I know that its teachings and saving ordinances are true. I know that finding true and lasting happiness comes from being obedient to the Lord's commandments. I strive to be worthy to have the Holy Ghost with me each day so that I may be guided, protected, and inspired to live a righteous life.

How I live my faith

My callings throughout the years has given me purpose and a chance to serve others, which is an important part of being a member of the church. The growth and knowledge that comes from accepting callings I have not felt competent enough to do has helped me realize newfound abilities and has helped me build confidence and faith in myself and the Lord.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Karen.
I would like to add my personal testimony of Jesus Christ. He is the literal Son of God, the first begotten in the flesh, who came to this earth to testify of his Father and the Good News that he has come to atone for the sins of all mankind. He is the Bread of Life, the Saviour and Redeemer of the World. We can have a personal relationship with him as we read of his mission in the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon -- Another Testament of Jesus Christ -- and through prayer. We can receive a testimony of the truthfulness of his gospel by studying his words and by living the commandments that have been set forth for us. Show more Show less
