Hi I'm Kristy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay home mother of 5 children and I love it! Some days the tasks of everyday life can seem overwhelming, but I try to make time for things I enjoy......like reading, baking, playing games, going to the temple and visiting with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was taught the principles of the gospel in my home and in Primary and have always known that they were true. My father is a convert and grew up Catholic. When he was 19 or 20, he was taught by the missionaries and was impressed with the principle of eternal families. He gained a testimony of the gospel and was baptized. He wanted the blessings of an eternal family of his own, so he waited a year to marry my mother in the temple. It was a great sacrifice for him, as his parents were not able to attend their only son's wedding. My parents have always been faithful members of the church and taught all 6 of their children to have faith and trust that the Lord would bless us if we were obedient to the gospel principles. I am grateful for this legacy they left me, as I am now a parent and have the opportunity to teach my children as well. I too, was able to be married in the temple and am striving to keep those sacred covenants so that we can live together forever as a family.

How I live my faith

I love my church! I love that there are so many opportunities to be involved. I have been asked to teach a gospel lesson once a month to the women 18yrs and older. It has been a wonderful experience. I have to admit, it is a little frightening but I learn so many things as I study and prepare the assigned material for each lesson. It has really caused me to step out of my comfort zone and has allowed many opportunities for learning and growth. I was also recently asked to participate in planning a spiritual program for the girls youth group (ages 12-18) at girls camp this summer. It was a wonderful experience and I really enjoyed working with many new people and getting to know the youth better. We have amazing young people who have such courage and faith to face many challenges in this world today.
