Hi I'm Lauren

I'm a nerdy girl who plays video games. My life would not be complete without live music. I LOVE Auburn football...I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a southern girl, born and raised! I love math and physics and problem solving, so naturally I'm studying to be a mechanical engineer. I'm also really interested in music of any kind, and I'm constantly looking out for good live shows. I enjoy finding beauty in every setting, so I've become somewhat of an amateur photographer over the past few years. I like to think I'm a very positive and optimistic person. I have trials and struggles just like everyone else, but I love my life and I always try to make the most of any situation.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born, my mother and father were both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints so I was raised in the Mormon faith. Until I left home to go away for school, I based my testimony of Jesus Christ and the restored gospel on what my parents and other friends from church had told me. I had never really and truly sought to know for myself whether or not the church was true. When I did finally decide to test my faith and question the doctrines of the Mormon faith, I had to really put all of my trust in my Heavenly Father and ask for Him to teach me what is true through the gift and power of the Holy Spirit. I struggled in prayer and scripture study with no support from my parents, who had both left the church by that time. Gradually, I was able to find answers to my prayers and God helped me to build my own testimony from the ground up - starting with the truth of the plan of salvation made possible through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Through my study and my personal experiences, I have come to the knowledge that this is the restored church and that we have a living prophet in the world today. My faith in this gospel has changed my life and my heart and has made me who I am today as I've worked to become more Christ-like and follow His teachings. This church is true, and that is why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service and fellowship with those around me. One of my first opportunities to serve others came through the church youth program. I had the wonderful privilege of being the girls' youth group president when I was younger. As the president, I helped to plan and organize youth activities with uplifting spiritual lessons and service projects. I've also had a lot of fun as a counselor for church youth camps. I've had many great experiences building uplifting relationships and fellowship in the gospel of Christ through service within the church, and also in the surrounding community. I've been blessed with the peace and hope that comes from the gospel of Jesus Christ and I try to share that peace and hope with others whenever and wherever I can.
