Hi I'm Paige

I'm a mother of six. I live in Nebraska, USA. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of six children. I work part-time as a teacher's aide. I love to sew, read, and go to church. My children range in age from nine years to nineteen. I love being home with my children and taking care of them. Being a mom is my life. I love to seek out and feel the love of God, and to express my thanks to Him for all that He has given me. I study the Gospel and ponder its truths as I strive to apply its principles in my life. I try to find joy in the simple things.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a young stay-at-home mom I began to feel a strong need to know what to teach my children about the meaning of life and how they could make wise decisions after I was gone, whenever that would be. I wanted to feel more fulfillment in my daily life. My children were not in school yet and each day seemed very repetitive. I wanted to know why I existed and where true happiness could be found. I began to seek answers. I had not been brought to a church by my parents while growing up. A few times in my childhood I was a guest of one friend or another in various Christian denominations. I remembered feeling great peace whenever I heard about the Savior Jesus Christ. So my search for answers began with the Bible. The more I read the Bible the more I knew it was the word of God. I still had many questions. None of the churches I visited could answer my most basic questions - questions I knew that a just and loving God would freely answer. Then one day there was a knock on my door. I answered and listened to a message about the Savior and His visit to the American continent after His resurrection. I was given a Book of Mormon, and was eager to read it. After reading some marked passages, I prayed to know if The Book of Mormon was true. I saw an image in my mind of God sitting on His throne smiling lovingly down upon me and I felt a peacefulness and a desire to read more. I read The Book for Mormon daily and found myself living by its principles. I soon gained a solid testimony that it is truly the word of God, just as the Bible is. I continued to meet with the missionaries, and my unanswered questions were finally answered. I knew I had found the Truth. I was baptized. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I know who I am - a literal daughter of God. I know where I came from and where I am going. And I know where to find peace - from the Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being in a constant state of prayer, regardless of what I am doing or where I am. I study the scriptures daily and strive to apply the principles they teach. I attend Church and partake of the sacrament. I love to share what I am learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ with my children and friends, coworkers and neighbors. I live my faith by serving others. I find comfort in expressing gratitude to my Heavenly Father throughout the day for the blessings He has given me. I strive to lead my children in living the Gospel to the best of our abilities. I bear my testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel and of the restoration of the priesthood of God upon the earth today. I attend the Temple as often as I can. I seek out my ancestry and perform temple ordinances in their behalf. I look for the good in all people and try to learn something new from everyone I meet. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is led by Jesus Christ. It is His church. His priesthood authority is found only in His church, and I have been immeasurably blessed by my membership in it. I am forever thankful for the Atonement, for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and for the forgiveness I receive from Him as I strive to follow His example. I have true joy.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Mormons believe the purpose of life is to be happy, and to become like God, our Heavenly Father. By knowing Him and following Him, we find happiness. Life on Earth gives us many experiences. Heavenly Father gives us these experiences to help us grow and learn. We receive a physical body; we are given the opportunity to choose between good and evil; and we form family relationships that may become eternal. His divine plan guides us to greater peace in this life and eternal joy in the life to come. Show more Show less
