Hi I'm Larry

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a married to an amazing woman - who, by the way, is my best friend - and we have two boys and a girl. I am a 3rd generation Arizona native. I love being in the outdoors - especially with my family - and doing almost any activity - boating - fishing - gardening - skiing - driving fast cars - restoring and riding old Schwinn bicycles - attending sporting events - golfing - target shooting - just to name a few! I also like to travel with my wife to anywhere. I attended college in Hawaii and personally learned that surfing is much harder then it looks - North Shore waves can cause serious bodily damage. I chose to be a real estate manager as my profession and enjoy the challenges it brings on a daily basis.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe we should always try to improve ourselves and to serve others. I strongly believe that God provides help to those in need by prompting those who are willing to serve and lend a helping hand. I believe in prophecy, visions, tithing and honesty. I accept The Book of Mormon as the word of God just like I believe the Holy Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. God knows each one of us individually and He hears and answers our prayers. Everyone has the opportunity to be able to return and live with God and their family after this earthly life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping others and looking for ways to serve those in need. I try to do a "good turn daily" and live by the Golden Rule. I also love working with the youth and try to provide them an opportunity to experience different types of activites in life. I currently serve as a volunteer leader in my local congregation.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Have you ever dropped a mirror and had it shatter into many pieces? Anytime you try to put one back together, regardless of how careful you are, the images are still distorted. Because of that, sometimes it is better to get rid of the fractured and damaged mirror to start over. The Restoration of the Gospel is similar to a "new" mirror. Many of the truths of the gospel from Jesus Christ's time on earth, including some of the different translations of the Holy Bible, were shattered, distorted or just plain lost that it would have been extremely difficult to put it all back together and make it whole again. In addition, the authority given to the Apostles was lost as well. I am sure God could have put it all back together but knew it would be difficult. Instead, He decided that a Restoration of the Gospel through His Prophet Joseph Smith would be the best way to accomplish His needs. The First Vision where God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to a 14 year old boy in upstate New York, U.S.A. in the early 1800's was the first of many steps taken to teach and train Joseph to be their instrument on earth to assist with the Restoration of the Gospel in its fullness back to the earth. Over the course of many years and through many revelatory experiences, Joseph was trained to be the leader of Christ's church here on earth. From Joseph Smith to the current prophet on the earth today, there has been a succession of unbroken leadership that has led Christ's church. Show more Show less
