Hi I'm Dave

I love sports, they are my passion. I'm a Jersey boy. I Love serving the Lord and that's why I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In the sixth grade I moved to New Jersey. I was going through some tough family problems and was forced to grow up quickly. I was unsure of pretty much everything. All I knew was how to rely on myself. After I graduated from high school I fell away from the church. I moved around a lot trying to fill the holes in my life with teenage "fun". In the fall of 2008 my life changed forever. I moved to back to NJ for work and I was working a lot. It really exposed all those holes. I realized that I was missing something in my life and I had been trying to fill up my life with worldly desires. Out of Desperation I prayed and asked God what he wanted from me. To my surprise 2 Mormon missionaries knocked on my door. They invited me to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. I knew that this was either a GIANT coincidence or it was an answer to a prayer. That night I read and I prayed and asked God if the book was true. I received my answer. The next year I decided to finally go to school. In 2010 I finished my freshman year at UVU. That summer I quit my job and moved back home to good old NJ where I found myself in an all too familiar place. It was there that I did most of my growing spiritually. In January of 2011 I decided I wanted to serve a mission. I submitted my Papers to serve my Heavenly Father in August of 2011 and My call to serve the people of the Roseville, Ca mission came in september. I entered the MTC on December14th 2011. I am currently 25 and making up for lost time.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon but never developed a true testimony of the restored gospel. There were a lot of things that just didn't sit right with me. Through my young adult years, because of my lacking testimony, I fell away from the church. I considered myself a "non denominational Christian." After some time I started to feel alone and and empty. I had a hole in my heart that I tried to fill with things that I'm not necessarily proud of. I felt as if I had Lost my direction. As I tried to fill that hole it seemed to only get bigger. In 2008 I prayed to God asking Him for answers. I wanted to know how I could fill that emptiness. He answered my prayer with a TV commercial for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints a set of missionaries a day later. I knew instantly what I needed to do. I dug out my scriptures and began to read the Book of Mormon. After reading I got on my knees and pleaded with my Father in Heaven to know of the truthfulness of the book and if Joseph Smith was truly a prophet of God. A wave of emotion quickly overcame my entire body and I knew that this book was of a divine nature and I could not deny it. I then vowed to my Heavenly Father that I would dedicate my life to the service of His kingdom and I Immediately began to learn and actively use the atonement of Jesus Christ. Today I consider myself a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I serve my Fathers kingdom and preach the wonderful message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ to his children here on earth. I bare witness that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and through divine inspiration and authority he restored the gospel to this earth. It is also my witness that God lives, That His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, came to this world to bleed in Gethsemane for the sins of the world and die on the cross so that we could once again live with God again. I am forever indebted to my Savior for His sacrifice and I will spend the rest of my life making it up to Him.

How I live my faith

I am Currently serving in the Roseville California Mission. I love this work! Serving others through small simple acts of kindness or volunteering for larger service projects in the community. I actively use the Atonement of Jesus Christ in my life and partake of the sacrament each Sunday. I am constantly trying to be a good example to the young men in the ward i am serving in and to the people of Roseville. I try to help them gain a testimony for themselves of this restored gospel. The best way I can live my faith is to share the message of the plan of Happiness that our Father in Heaven created with everyone I meet. I try to be a christlike Example for everyone. I fall short everyday of being the best person and missionary I can be, Thank goodness for the atonement, Right? I try to develop my Heavenly traits through regular scripture study and prayer. I know that I am not only preparing for a life of hardships, trials and adversity but also a life of joy, happiness and love. I know that our Heavenly Father has a plan for us. I am trying to become the Husband, Father, Brother, Son, and Friend that i ought to be by developing christlike traits through my service. I AM a missionary and thats how I LIVE my faith.
