Hi I'm Dallas

I'm from Orem, Utah but currently in the Philippines and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the 8th of 9 kids in my family. I worked a part-time job through high school at a fast food restaurant. I graduated high school a little over a year ago. After High School I did door to door sales until February of 2011 I began serving as a full time Missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but it still took me a while before I really knew if it was right. I had been told that if I wanted to know if it was really God's Church that I needed to read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it was true. I had tried a couple of times but I wasn't a big fan of reading and I never made it past a week or so before I stopped. I started to notice in the lives of my siblings, some who were not members and others who were very involved at church, that to some of them the Church was making a big difference in their lives. Eventually when I was thirteen I was motivated to read the whole thing for myself to know if it was the word of God. Over a couple of months I finished the Book for the first time, I felt so good about it and that it was the word of God I almost stopped there; but, I remembered that I should also pray about it to know if it was true. So I knelt down and prayed right after I asked God about it I felt so joyful and warm about it and then I knew without any doubts that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God and because the Book of Mormon is the Word of God, I also knew that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. Because of that experience and testimony I have been able to come closer to Jesus Christ, our Savior, and I've been able to feel his love for us in these days; I have also experienced many blessings to me personally through the many gifts that have come through the Full Restoration of the power, authority, and Church of Jesus Christ in these last days. As a full time missionary I've been able to see the blessings and changes in peoples' lives as they also gain that same witness of the truth of this message and live the teaching of Jesus Christ's restored Church.

How I live my faith

I worked for a long time to be able to help support my parents and earn money so that I would be able to have the opportunity to serve others as a full time missionary. A lot of people don't know but the young men they see walking around with suits and name-tags aren't being paid to be out on their streets, they actually sacrifice and pay their own expenses to be able to share God's message with people they may not even know. Everything that we do as missionaries has no cost to those who listen but it is of great worth. The motivation to give to years of full time service to others is that you are fellow children of God and God wants you to be able to hear his message for you and your family. Our purpose as missionaries is to help you to come closer to Christ. We know that there are truths of God in other Churches but we know that the fullness of God's church has been restored and whatever knowledge and truths of God that you have in your life we would like to add on and really help you and your family to come closer to Your Savior, Jesus Christ, and his great love for you.
