Hi I'm Jill

I grew up on a cherry farm in Colorado, love to play tennis, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 23 years and am a mother of three wonderful children. I am a photographer and love to photograph flowers. I also do digital retouching (Photoshop) and love bringing out the best in people I retouch. I do "Super Slow" for weight training, which means it only takes me 14 minutes once a week!

Why I am a Mormon

My father was baptized and converted when he was 16 years old, and baptized my mother before they were married so I was born and raised in the church. However, it wasn't until about seven years ago that I really gained a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I am so grateful to know that our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us more than we can even imagine.

How I live my faith

In my ward I help the girls (age 12-18) earn their Young Womanhood Recognition Award. This program is called Personal Progress, and in the book it identifies eight values the girls strive to develop: Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice & Accountability, Good Works, Integrity, and Virtue. In order to receive the award, the girls are required to do several "Value Experiences" and one "Value Project" for each of the values. The Experiences and Projects the girls choose to work on helps them strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ. We have about 30 girls who participate in this program, and it's my job to talk to each girl at least two times a year to discuss their ideas and cheer them on. I am always impressed with their enthusiasm to do their best and try new things. I also enjoy singing in the ward choir, and occasionally accompanying the choir with my flute. I always feel closer to my Heavenly Father when I participate in the choir and, on occasion, I believe the choirs of heaven join us.
