Hi I'm Jim

I was born in Utah. My wife and I are joint owners of a Real Estate Brokerage firm with our oldest son and his wife.

About Me

I have been married for 55 years and have 13 children, 71 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. My hobbies include beekeeping, gardening and wilderness camping. The highlight of my year is riding one of my mules and packing the other two into the Eagle Cap Wilderness Area with my oldest son for a 10 day camping trip. I have been a Real Estate Broker for 24 years. My wife and I are joint owners of a Real Estate Brokerage firm with our oldest son and his wife. I serve on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce in the community where our business is located.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a partially active Mormon family, baptized when I was eight years old, and quite active in the church until the divorce of my parents when I was 13 years old. After the divorce and remarriage of both of my parents I left home at an early age. I found employment and my good fortune was that the forman on the crew in which I was employed was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints and happened to be serving, along with his wife, as a missionary. Soon after our marriage my wife and I began discussions with these missionaries---------after study and prayer my own testimony came back to life and my wife gained her testimony of the truthfulness of The Restored Gospel through the Prophet Joseph Smith. After almost 53 years of study, prayer and serving in The Church my testimony has grown to be one that burns in my heart that Joseph Smith told the truth, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and was translated by the power of God, and that The Church is in fact led by a modern day Prophet-----Thomas S. Monson.

How I live my faith

In the Church we do not have a paid ministry so each member has the opportunity to grow through serving in many capacities. Currently I serve in The Church as a Group Leader of a mostly older group of men and as the Director of Public Afffairs for our Stake. A Stake is geographical area consisting of a number of Congregations and is presided over by a Stake President. I am also active in our community and currently serve as a member of the Board of Directors of our local Chamber of Commerce.
