Hi I'm Peter de Asia's Latin City

I am currently serving as a full-time missionary in Arcadia, California Mission.

About Me

I am the youngest among six brothers and sisters in our family. My father died when I was in second-year High School. In two thousand and six, my mom passed away too. Despite of the great losses, I am still happy for the Lord has never forsaken me. I am just greatful for the Benevolent God who gave me a strong personality when it comes to trials like death. I was really influenced by my grandmother who taught me and gave me almost everything for my temporal, professional and spiritual growth and development. I love collecting and reading books like literature, medical science, history, and language. I also cook and bake, but, I am not really into sports. Being a full-time missionary, I have the opportunity to commence and experience the awesomeness of sports, like dodge ball and volleyball with my fellow missionaries. I am done with my college last 2010 with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Moreover, for me, education is a never-ending process...I want to learn more, because life does not start when we were born nor ended when we pass away in this great oasis.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at the age eight but, I became inactive for 6-7 years. In 2009, I returned back to the church and started working with the full-time missionaries. Working with them gave me knowledge that is beyond knowing but also, feeling. Before I returned back to the church, my life was like a maze, but, seeing and experiencing full-time missionaries touching and changing the lives of others slapped my ego to do the same thing. Missionary work is beyond comprehension for me. It deals with the grand exaltation of every individual. When you know the truth, you just simply want to share it. That's why I am here right now in the Lord's vineyard. I am not a perfect person, but I know that continous effort to do the will of the Father and embracing Jesus Christ and His Gospel will make it worth it to the path of perfection. Right now, I may say, I have changed a lot, although there are still few things that I still need to faithfully and patiently work out. The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only key to righteousness and exaltation, I may not comprehend everything, but, through the Gospel, it gives me the feeling that in His own time, every single thing will be revealed. "To God be the glory".

How I live my faith

Constant companionship of the Holy Ghost is the answer. To do that, I always kneel and say a prayer, scripture reading, keeping the Sabbath Day holy, doing good and serving others. In other words, BE OBEDIENT to all what God and the prophets say. "Obedience brings blessings, exact obedience brings miracles". Faith is not having a perfect knowledge, but, it is how willing you are to submit your will to the Lord's will. Sometimes, you just have to trust what you know and research more to strengthen it.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Peter de Asia's Latin City
yeah!, why do we need the Atonement of Jesus Christ? because without it, we cannot go back to our Heavenly Father's presence anymore. The atonement is vicarious and we started to need it after the Fall of Adam and Eve in which they partook the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, eventually it caused two (2) effects: First is Physical death, all people are subject to death or the separation of bodies and souls. The Atonement of Jesus Christ through His death and resurrection gives us, whether good or bad people, the gift to be resurrected. Without Christ's Atonement, our souls will go to Satan's side. Second is spiritual death, Adam and Eve were separated from God's presence; we become separated from God's presence, we deprive ourselves from the gifts that are intended for us everytime we sin. However, through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, He gave us the Gospel, particularly the ability to repent (repentance) so that we can be reconciled again with our Father Heaven. Filthiness has no portion in His Kingdom, that is why the Atonement is the only antidote for us to have access again to be with our Heavenly Father. This is my solemn testimony about the Vicarious Atonement. In Christ's name amen. Show more Show less
