Hi I'm Jon

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm in my thirties. I have a beautiful wife and four wonderful children. I have been in construction almost my whole life. Life has thrown us some curve balls with having to really trust in the Lord. One specific example is having to see one of our children go through many medical procedures at a very young age and having to fully put our trust in the Lord that his will be done. That is truly the time that you see who you are and how strong your relationship is with your father in heaven.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but there came a time in my life that I had to decide if what my parents taught me and what I learned at church was true. As I studied and did as is taught in the bible and the Book of mormon to ask God with a sincere heart I found that what I had ben taught was indeed true. I knew for myself that Jesus is the Christ and that it is through him and only him that we can return to live with our father in heaven. I learned that God loves us enough to send prophets in our day to lead us just as he did in ancient times. We have challenges that are unique in our day and it is so comforting to know that God has not left us without his direction, but that he continues to send us his word through a living prophet and apostles as he did Moses and Abraham and other prophets of long ago. I learned that the Book Of Mormon truly is another testament of Jesus Christ that it is not here to replace the Bible but to be a second witness that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God and that through his teachings we can find out our purpose for being here and what we must do to return to live with him. I learned that Marriage does not end at death as is the common theme in wedding ceremonies that you are married until death do you part but that mariage can continue for all eternity through the priesthood power.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving in the church as ward mission leader. I have the opportunity to work along with the full time missionaries in helping those that want to learn more about the gospel come unto Christ and be baptized in his church. One principle that we are taught in the church is to have family Prayer and scripture study each day and even though we are not perfect at it and fall short it is a great time to be together as a family and learn more of the teachings of the gospel.
