Hi I'm David S.

I grew up in Houston, TX. I served in the US Army. I am a retired police officer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Houston, TX. I met my wife when I was a sergeant in the Army. We have been married for 24 years and we have two sons, age 22 and 19. I have a BS degree in Computer Engineering Technology from the University of Houston. I am a retired police officer of a major US city. I have many hobbies and interests ranging from working on cars and welding to raising chickens and bee keeping. I like to create functional art from scrap. I enjoy outdoor activities like camping and hiking. I have been on two 50-mile hikes with my sons' scout troop. I am a general ham radio operator, KF7SKA.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church in 1991 after having the discussions with the missionaries. In 1994, I went became a police officer. As a new officer, I had to work weekends and nights. It was hard to regularly attended meetings with my job schedule. I became a motorcycle officer and in 2003 while working, I was hit by a semi-truck. I suffered a broken femur. It was at that moment that I realized that God was there watching over me. Ever since that day I've tried to dedicate my life to serving Him. I made a effort to get Sundays off so that I could attend church. I believe that this is truly God's church.

How I live my faith

I have attend church every Sunday. I am the Executive Secretary in my church. I have been a Scout leader and Primary teacher in church. I regularly participate in church activities. I read my scriptures and pray daily.
