Hi I'm Leslie

I'm from Denver, Colorado. I'm a small business owner. I'm a wife and mother of two. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Colorado native and love this state! I happily dragged my husband back to Colorado with me after we completed school. My husband and I own a small business consulting firm. I help with the operations and accounting. I also work full-time as a mother to an adorable toddler girl and baby boy. Life can be chaotic, but it is always fun if you look at it with the right attitude. I'm an only-child and live close to my parents. I belong to various playgroups, two book clubs and participate in a monthly girl's-night-out with friends. I love the mountains and taking last-minute trips up to our favorite mountain towns. I love to read, although I have a hard time finding the time to indulge myself in a good book! I played rugby in high school and now I love to work out at the gym and go to Zumba classes.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church doesn't mean that your testimony is automatic. While I have been familiar with the Mormon church all my life, I have had many instances over my life in which I've had a question, taken it to the Lord and received and answer. There was a particular point in my young adult life when I knew I had to make a choice what path I would follow. Part of me no longer wanted to follow the commandments of the Lord and those things I knew to be right. Another part of me knew that true happiness is not found in a life that is inconsistent with the principles of the gospel. After much soul searching, repentance, study and prayer, I received an answer that this church is the true church and my greatest potential for happiness would be found within being an active, participating member of this gospel. Soon after I met my husband, married in the temple and have continued to try to live in accordance with the answer I received. I continue to pray for answers and reaffirmations of my testimony since a testimony is a living thing that requires constant care. Life is a constant learning process; it is much sweeter with the guidance and support of a loving Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I am the secretary of the women's group in my congregation. I serve with the president and two counselors. I help to organize meetings, keep the women updated of current events within our group and help organize welfare needs of women in need. The women meet once a week in a women's only meeting. We also meet once a month for other activities that include: service projects for the community, health activities, learning more about Christ and His gospel, self-reliance and personal preparedness. Occasionally I teach lessons on Sunday. I also have three sisters that I try to visit in their home once a month to share a spiritual thought and assess how they are doing personally.
