Hi I'm Pete

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married (35 years) to a wonderful woman who has managed to put up with me all this time. Have 5 wonderful children and 7 wonderful grand children. I am a retired (26 years) Military/Airport fire fighter/EMT. I am an Elder in the church and have been a member of the Church of Jeses Christ of Latter Day Saints all my life. I love to go regular camping, backpacking, climb using rope and other gear, bike, float rivers, and at this point in life i love to ski best of all.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a strong testimony of the church. I know that there is a God and he is my Heavenly Father. He sent his son Jesus here to die on the cross for my sins. He was Resurrected and later went back to heaven. After a number of years the church fell away as an orginized church. Then in 1823 a young man named Joseph Smith received a revelation from the Lord that he was to restore the true church on earth. He translated the golden plates into the book of Mormon which contained the fullness of the everlasthig gospel.......Joseph Smith became the first Prophet of our church and was truly called of God to be the Prophet. He restored the only true church on the earth today. All the Prophets to follow him have also been called of God through this present day. I know that the way back to our father in heaven is through the teachings of this church. Love the Lord with all your heart and might. Obey the commandments big and small. Repent, be baptized, and receive the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. Endure to the end in the persuit to be as Christ was, knowing that you will fail many times but by not getting discouraged. Pray and ask for forgivness then pick yourself up and start again.......know that the Lord loves us and wants us to make it back to him. So why am i a Mormon.....Because everynight when i go to bed and pray to my Lord thanking him for all i have, all that He have given to me and done for me and provided a path for me to follow. Placing myself in his hands to do as he wants, i receive the feeling that this is right, the Holy ghost makes it known to me that this is right and the blessings flow out to me in many different ways each and every day. There is no luck involved it is pure love given and received. As long as you hold on to that iron rod and keep your eyes on the goal, making and placing the Lord first you will as i do, know why i am or you are a Mormon. I say these things humbly, in the name of Jesus Christ ....Amen.

How I live my faith

This is how i do it............Pray, read my scriptures and other works of the church, pray some more, obey the commandments which you learn by reading and going to church and doing some more praying......oh did i say praying((((( This is to me the key because when you talk to your heavenly father you are opening yourself up the answers to your questions and the receiving of the feeling that you are loved. In this way you are becoming humble and less of the world...........it is a good feeling. Every day before i do something i try to say to myself what would Christ do and then do it. Some days i fail and i feel bad and other days i succeed and i feel good but i always keep moving forward....... Also back in the day i would do service when asked, i learned years ago to never turn down a chance to serve when asked. Now that i am older i see this wasen't good enough and i feel so bad about it. You need to look for opertunities to serve and when you find this out and put others first you then get a small glimpse of what it is like to be Christ like........
