Hi I'm Eric

I love what i do, I live what I love and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm one blessed indivudual. My heavenly father has given me so much in my life and its unreal that i'm blessed enough to have the knowledege and the understanding of his just a hint of his love for me. I'm just like any other college student but a little bit more. I love to be doing something at all times of the day. I've spent countless hours on a basketball court doing the thing i love. I love to stay up late and eat food! Who doesn't? My favorite thing though is to be with those i care about. I love meeting new people and i truly love my family (Although sometimes they might think otherwise, but i do) I have been a diabetic since i was 15 years old. The news at first was devestating but i can't believe how much stronger i've gotten through this experience. It was extremely hard dealing with the illness during sports and student government and other things in High School. My younger brother has diabetes as well and its made our realationship so strong as we have each other in this trial just like the Savior is there for us in hard times or problems we have in this life.

Why I am a Mormon

Although i was born into the LDS faith i have had to come to the knowledge for myself if this church is true. Its like any other prinicple in the gospel of Jesus Christ, If you want to know, you've gotta do the work. You have to pray and find out. You HAVE TO read the scriptures! Faith without works is dead. I had to read The Book of Mormon and pray about it before i truly gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. In a sense i'm converting every day as i continue to do the things our Heavenly Father has commanded us and continue to strive to become better. We're all human and we all will make mistakes but that is the beauty of the Atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Repentance is such a positive thing and is something we do so we are to be able to turn to God and draw nearer to him. We have that desire to say "Dang, I wish I would of handled this differently" Or, "Man i really wish i wouldn't of done that". As we do this we are blessed beyond measure and realize that we're hear on Earth to learn and grow and become more like our PERFECT example, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith i believe by the power of example. That, i strive to be the person who rises above sin and temptation. I try to encourage others to do the same. I live my faith by attending church every week and partaking of the sacrament. Its the most important part of the week for me as i reflect on Christ's sacrafice for us. I live my faith by doing the small things like praying daily and making sure my scriptures are read on a daily basis. This things are simple but so important.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No mormon's are not REQUIRED to serve as a missionary but the life of a missonary is the best. Its unbelievable how much you grow as a child of God. Its crazy to me to see the power of the Holy Ghost and the power of the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. I've learned so much more about life/people/business/social skills/ whatever else you can name off, from being a missionary than i could be learning in school or work. I've grown so close to my heavenly father and i would not trade the experience for anything else in the entire world. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The book of mormon is simply another testament of Jesus Christ. It tells the story of the ancient habiatantes of the Americas. It's a witness that God still talks to his people and also it tells of the divinity and of the love of our Heavenly Father. It's simply the only book i've found in the world with a promise in it. A promise that is true, and real. And more importantly it's something for every child of God. That if we are to pray and see if its contents are true, we'll be told through the power of the holy ghost that it is and that when we apply it's teachings, we can truly reach our full potential in life.
